Many of us have websites which contains valuable information with a well laid out design, but can't seem to bring in traffic. It can be very frustrating because you've put in so much work developing a masterpiece and no one can see it. Well no more worries. I'm going to give you 5 easy tips that will not only drive traffic to your site, but bring in consistent traffic and overtime be placed on the first page of the top search engines.

Tip #1. Search engine optimization. The best traffic still comes from SEO. I say this because not only is it a free way to obtain tremendous traffic to your site, you will also receive consistent traffic and increase your chances of getting placed on the first page of the top search engines. There are two things that your site needs when using this method. Relevance and Importance. Your site gains relevance through keywords. Having great keywords makes it easier for people to find your site in the search engines. Your site gains importance by the amount of quality links that are linking to your site. The more links that are linked to your site, the higher your ranking in the search engines. So you need both in order to receive the traffic your site deserves.

Tip #2. Article Marketing. It's a reliable technique to not only gaining traffic, but also obtaining backlinks to your site. So you should write quality articles with a link to your site and publish them in several article directories. A quality article should have at least 400 words. Write about a solution to your readers needs and wants. Don't try to make your article a sales page. You will lose the reader and most article sites won't publish your article.

Tip #3. Link building- Again, start building links to your website. The more links you obtain, the more traffic you will receive and the higher you will rank on the search engines which will bring in even more traffic. You can do this by reciprocal or one way linking. Make sure that the sites you are linked to are well established sites and have at least a "4" google page rank. A good way to find linking partners is to type in your main keyword in the search box and obtain the email and phone numbers to the top high ranking sites. Link to their website first, then ask them to link back to you or purchase a software that does all the work for you.

Tip #4. Forum posting. Another great way to promote your site is by joining web forums that share the same topic as your site. In these forums, you can reply to members that are looking for answers to their problems. To establish credibility, reply to members in the forum often. The more you visit the forum and reply to people, the more people will see you as an expert in the field and click on your site.

Tip #5 Social bookmarking- Social bookmarking is a new way people are putting their site out for the world to see. It's a great way to drive traffic and multiply the number of visitors to your site in no time. Just make sure you write some convincing articles that people would want to bookmark and share with their friends and family members.
