1.Create ads- Writing pay per click ads is the fastest and most effective way to drive traffic to your site. Google Adwords and Yahoo Marketing are the most common pay per click advertising sites that are used in today's internet marketing world. What's great about using this service is that you only pay for the clicks, so the more clicks you receive, the more traffic you receive. There can be some drawbacks if you don't write a compelling ad or don't have targeted keywords for your ads. You end up paying too much for each click or the click through rate can be very low. As long as you write good ads and have great keywords, you should have no problem receiving traffic. Creating banner ads is another way to drive traffic to your site also.

2.Writing articles- For people who don't want to spend money, writing articles is an inexpensive way to drive traffic to your site. Article sites such as GoArticles or Ezine is a great place to start. Writing at least one article a day to one of these sites is a good start and once you get the hang of it, you can start writing three or four articles a day. As long as you have high school level writing, anyone can write an article. There are other article sites where you can pay for them to distribute your article to thousands of article sites at once or pay for someone to write the articles for you. By writing articles you can them published on ezine sites and also create backlinks to your site which again drives more traffic.

3.Forums- Join a marketing forum. Promote your website at the forums by placing a link in the signature line when you make a post. Make sure to visit the forum often and respond on whatever topic discussed. It is better to discuss something that is related to your site. People would probably see you as expert and is more inclined to listen to what you have to say. The more times you visit a forum and participate in the discussions, the more times the link to your website is exposed for people to click on. Again it is another way to create a link to your site and drive traffic.

4.Email marketing- building an opt in email list is a great way to gather prospects. Create a newsletter and have a section on your site where people can use their email address to sign up for it. So now you have access to their email address where you can continue to promote your site through email. Create a compelling email that would drive prospects to come back. Now you have another way to market your site and increase your traffic.

5. SEO- Search Engine Optimization is a natural and organic way to improve the volume of traffic from search engines using targeted keywords. There are several places that can show you how to increase traffic using SEO just by changing or adding minor things to your site. By using SEO you receive top rankings on search engines, increased popularity and visibility, grow your business, enhance online sales, drive tremendous traffic, and push the competition right into the water. It is a great marketing strategy. It is a method that people have been using for years and it works.
