There are different ways to make money in Internet Marketing. The most effective I would have to say is product creation. Creating an informational product that fills a need can be a very very lucrative endeavor. The problem is knowing how to get started, and most of all how to finish successfully. I'll walk you step by step through your journey of IM success.
Finding Your Niche The First thing you have to do of course is find your niche. You want to make sure it is a niche with a good market. To ensure this you must do your research. I use the Good Keywords software (which probably isn't the best) to find out how often certain keywords are being searched. I generally look for key phrases with over 10,000 searches. For example I'd check out how many people searched "Soulfood recipes". If the number meets my criteria I then go to google and find how much competition there is. After I realize the market is colossal I narrow it down to something specific like "How to make potato salad".
If I find many people are searching for that I'll focus my project on that aspect. This narrows down your target market and a smaller group. Now the market isn't as big as soul food recipes in general, but if you dominate the potato salad market you can still make some good money.
Research, Research, and More Research This is a step I have found many marketers skip. This is critical to the success of any project. First you have to play "Spy". Do a Google search on your keywords and see what comes up. Look at the top websites on the SERP and also on the adwords. Visit those websites and take note on what they are doing. These are probably the more successful pages in your niche. They know what the customer wants. Look at similarities in the different competitors. There may be things that are making them all successful that the failures didn't know about.
It's not a bad idea to model your business after the ones that are already proven successful. You don't always have to reinvent the wheel. If something is working by all means use it. With that said do not copy anyone elses material.
Create a Product Now you know what market your going to enter, its time to create your product. If you are going to write an ebook there are some guidelines you should remember.
1. Try to have no less than 50 pages. 2. Be as detailed as possible. People like step by step guides. 3. Get some illustrations. Pictures are a good way to keep peoples attention
You don't have to stop at one book. You could create a package of books that will teach different things and sell it for a higher price.
Sales Page Now you need a sales page. If you don't know how to write a decent sales page it might be a good idea to higher a more experienced one to receive better results. I always suggest higher a graphics/web designer to make your site look professional. Many times I see unprofessional sales pages, which is a quick turn off to customers.
A professionally written sales page will attract customers to buying your product. You need emotion provoking copy that will force the customer to buy immediately. I must stress this is the key to success. No matter how good your product is if your sales page isn't pulling you won't see a single red cent. This is an area I must stress you not slack on.
Capture Leads You want to capture a persons email everytime they visit your webpage. You're going to need an autoresponder such as Aweber to keep track of all your email leads. Send a few follow-up messages to try to get them to buy your product at another time if they didn't buy the first time.
