Promotional bags are a great way of getting your brand noticed, unlike many smaller promotional gifts, promotional bags have a much larger printable area, which allows you to incorporate not just your company logo, but also your address and website information, but is this always the optimum way to spread your brand?
In certain situations, the right type of promotional brand, along with some highly saturated marketing script printed upon it can be very effective, but there are situations where discreet use of the bags printable space may be more effective over the long term. Conference bags are particularly well suited to the style of branding, let us explore why.
• Conference bags continue to be useful long after the event itself is finished; a good quality conference bag becomes a useful addition to a person's working life. Let's ask ourselves a question though, how many of us would be comfortable walking into a meeting carrying a bag that is covered in marketing hype and obviously a freebie? Many people see their image as an important factor of their working life, and will not tarnish that image by being seen with something that isn't classy.
• Conference bags are particular useful for the types of people who spend many hours a week attending meetings, it allows them to carry all of the important documents they require easily, by adding a simple, discreet company logo or slogan to a bag used in this fashion, along with a thought provoking comment, some startling results can be had. Why is this? Simply because many people will switch off during some parts of a meeting that do not pertain to them, by giving them a puzzling slogan to work on in their mind, whilst they wait for their particular part of the meeting to come around, you will be driving your brand into their minds at a time when they are desperately looking for something to distract them.
• Conference bags are very durable, it is quite possible that a bag will remain in use for several years, if you include a wealth of marketing hype upon the bag, which later becomes obsolete or irrelevant, you will be sending the wrong message, better to keep things simple and far reaching.
As we can see, there are some good reason why a conference bag should be treated as a different form of branding tool than other forms of promotional bags. In many ways conference bags are a hook into the management team of your potential client companies, as the lower echelons of the work force seldom attend conferences, your marketing approach to this particular pier group needs to be far more subtle, as you do not want to offend or dissuade these potential decision makers from adopting your product or service, far better to supply food for thought and some basic contact information than to waste your branding exercise by insulting the intelligence and style of your target audience.
