Can Laxatives Help You Lose Weight
Joshwebber
Weight is an issue that most of us struggle with on a daily basis. The problem is that many of the foods we love to eat are loaded with carbohydrates that, in turn, are not good for our bodies. While some of us are motivated to exercise regularly, if we continue to eat the same way we always do, we will be frustrated with our efforts to get into shape. Many people search constantly for ways to enjoy the foods we love while still being able to shed a few pounds.
The sugar sweetener, Splenda, may be the answer to our dieting prayers. One of the most common areas of the diet where people tend to overindulge is with sugar laden snacks, desserts, and other sweet treats. There are a lot of empty calories in sugar that can quickly run the daily caloric intake up a great deal. By the time you consume a blueberry muffin and a cup of sweetened coffee on the way to work, there is a good chance you have consumed several hundred calories. If you add in a soda and candy bar for a mid morning snack, you have managed to ring up a few hundred more calories to your daily intake. For people trying to lose weight by sticking to a two thousand calorie per day diet, they might have very well already used up to half of their daily allotment by the time they sit down for their first substantial meal of the day.
Splenda is different from many other sweetening products on the market today. It can work on both hot and cold foods as well as drinks. It will not lose its sweetness when added to warm treats, meaning you can still enjoy your morning cup of coffee as well as have that muffin. Simply use a teaspoon of Splenda to sweeten the coffee and try to substitute the sugar in the muffin recipe for the same amount of Splenda, taking into account powdered milk and a dash of baking soda to help the batter rise during baking.
For cold drinks and treats, Splenda works equally well. Substitute a diet soda during that morning break and you immediately save calories. Instead of that sugar laden candy bar, allow yourself some type of packaged sweet that uses Splenda instead of other sweeteners, or fruit gently sweetened with a Splenda packet. There are many hard and soft candies made with this sweetener today, so there are plenty of options that will have you gladly putting that candy bar down for another option.
Using Splenda instead of sugar throughout the day will also make it possible to save your calorie usage for foods that provide plenty of vitamins and nutrients. For example, try to not sweeten your tea with sugar, instead add Splenda. Because the product measures just like sugar, you will instantly know how much to use for a pitcher of tea. Best of all, you do not have to add the sweetener while the tea is still hot, as is the case with sugar. You can simply add a little Splenda to each glass of tea you prepare in order to cater to your own sweet preference.
Splenda can also help when it comes to preparing salad dressings that call for a little sugar. Since dressings use sugar for taste and not for volume, simply follow the same recipe remembering to leave out the sugar and add Splenda instead. The same is true when preparing a meringue for a pie topping. The volume comes from the egg whites, not the sugar. Add a dash of Splenda to sweeten the whites and you will still have fluffy peaks of meringue that will brown well in the oven and satisfy the taste buds.
Using Splenda for desserts is also practical. While it is true Splenda works best in desserts such as cheesecakes and others where sugar is not used to add volume, there are ways to augment the sweetener with other ingredients, and still achieve the same texture in cake layers, brownies, and other treats.
All this reduction in the number of calories that are normally consumed from sugar can help you lose that excess weight in two amazing ways. First, using Splenda effectively diverts those saved calories for consumption in foods that provide more nutrients that will help give you longer lasting energy and thus motivate you to get up and move around. Second, Splenda does not cause the phenomenon of a sugar rush, which provides you with a quick burst of energy followed by a letdown. Your energy level will remain more constant throughout the day, allowing you to actually get more enjoyment from physical activities.
When paired with eating the right foods in moderation and engaging in a sensible exercise regimen each day, Splenda can be one of your most important tools in getting your weight under control and enjoying an enhanced state of health. Spend some time today looking into ways to prepare meals using Splenda. You may be surprised at all the things you can do with this versatile sweetener.
