Pay Per Click Success Or Failure Depends On Your Keyword List
Keith Synan
In sales you will often hear the phrase ?qualified leads.? This often refers to leads that are in the market for what you are selling and that have the money to buy now. Qualifying leads helps a marketer to spend his or her time on those prospects most likely to buy. Well, pay per click marketing is no different and is one of the few advertising strategies where you can qualify or target your prospects immediately and make changes to your campaign if you find you are not generating qualified leads. In the Internet marketing world you will often hear the phrase ?targeted visitors.? This is almost synonymous with ?qualified leads? in terms of purpose relating to web traffic.
This is really about making sure that the web surfers who click on your ads are people who will want what you are offering. There are really two primary strategies to qualify leads before they click on your ads causing you to incur advertising expense. These are contained in your ad copy and your keyword list. In this article I will focus on choosing great keywords to target your niche and increase conversions.
Choosing the right keywords or keyword phrases can be the difference between receiving targeted visitors or ?browsers? who are not serious about what they want. Having total control over which keywords you target means choosing who visits your site and who does not.
With extensive keyword research and testing you will learn that different keyword phrases covert differently. Think of it this way. Each keyword or keyword phrase (because rarely do people search on just one word) is a market niche in and of itself and each keyword phrase will different competition and varying traffic levels and costs.
The key is in doing extensive keyword research to determine what keyword phrases your potential customers are searching on when looking for your product or service. Not only can you use this information to target your pay per click campaigns but it will also prove useful in optimizing the content of your web site as well.
There are a number of free tools available that will allow you to do keyword research and most will simply give you a long list of potential keyword people might search on in the future. That is not good enough and typically these free services fall short of providing the information needed for a truly targeted professional quality campaign.
In addition to giving you a list of potential search terms, any keyword research tool you use should also provide the ability to research industry specific trends, spelling mistake research, seasonal trends, related keywords, as well as predicted future volume.
Before rushing out and spending your valuable advertising dollars on a poorly planned pay per click campaign take the time to properly research your keywords and hit the ground running and profitable.
There are plenty of free tools out there to help you choose keywords. The problem is that everybody else is using the SAME free tools. If you are going to invest in a PPC campaign then invest in your keyword research tools. If you want the most comprehensive keyword research tool then visit http://www.MyWordTracker.info
