1 Project - Descriptive Statistics (30 points)

Recover some information from the Internet. I recommend using special topics data obtainable at the Inter University Consortium for Political and Social Research situated at Michigan University.

There are about five unique topic obtainable in the areas

1) International Archive of Education Data (IAED)

2) The (HMCA) Health and Medical Care Archive National

3) Archive of Criminal Justice Data (NACJD)

4) National Archive of Computerized Data on Aging (NACDA)

5) Substance Abuse & Mental Health Data Archive (SAMHDA)

Browse and do little research for your areas of interest. There are lots of other surveys obtainable on ICPSR web site, but many of them need a membership in a consortium to get an entry to the data.

Some of the data areas will allow you to carry out an analysis of the data. If achievable then choose this since it allows you to pick subsets of the data instead of downloading the complete file. There are about hundreds and thousands of cases with numerous hundred variables in some of these surveys, as a result narrowing the data makes it more handle able. As a minimum one of your variables have to be quantitative.
