If you have a few extra pounds in your body, it is obvious that you are trying some way or the other to shed them from your frame. And quite probably, you are failing at it too. A lot of people try many things to cut on the flab. These can be things like exercising, going on crash diets, undergoing nutritional therapies, using herbal supplements and this is the worst using steroids. However, in most cases, it has been seen that there is never any permanent effect. Some of these methods could make you lighter for a while, but then the flab comes right back. So why does it happen? Why can't you simply lose your weight when you are trying so hard? Is it something genetic that you cannot just shake it off?



Well, the problem lies not in the effort, but it lies in the method itself. With each of these above methods, you are forcing your body to lose weight. Forcing! And no human body likes to be forced. Every body has a fixed functioning pattern which we call as metabolism. Now, if you try to make your body work against its metabolism, it might shrivel up under the aggressive efforts you are putting in, but it will certainly not like being bent so hard, and sure as hell, the weight is back again. So, what must you do when you want to shed those pounds?

The secret is burn the fat diet program. Sounds long and winding, but this is really the two point plan you must adopt. You have to make friends with the metabolism of your body so that it begins utilizing the fat in your body. You do this with the methods mentioned above already. But what you do not do is the 'feed the muscle' part. Look, if you are only burning the fat in the body with any of the ways mentioned above, your body has a great degree of probability of going into the starvation mode. When this happens, the body will derive its nutrition from the muscle component of it. This is dangerous, because without the muscle in the right amount, your body will not be able to sustain the weight loss efforts you are putting in. Either your body will collapse under your efforts due to its weak muscle content, or you will chuck your efforts at losing weight. Whichever way it happens the weight will come right back in you.

This is why, when you are planning to lose some weight, you must actually follow the principle of burn the fat feed the muscle. The way you can eliminate the things you don't want within your body and you are adding to the muscle, where it matters the most. It should not be just weight loss, but it should be muscle increase also. This is really the secret to a fitter body.

Techniques and terminologies may have changed, but the essential concept is the same: what you are accomplishing is a low impact contraction of muscles, thus expending energy without having to fight the feeling. You control your own resistance level, so you are never in danger of "overdoing" it. Efficiency is maximized, and the results are remarkable.

Nutrition, aerobics and strength building are the three central elements of getting yourself back into shape, so eat smart; (don't worry about "dieting;" you've probably been eating better than your kids since they left the nest); keep in motion at a comfortable pace: walking is a good way to start. At the outset, it is not the length of time or the speed at which you walk that matters, but rather the movement itself. Even a casual five or ten minute stroll will increase the blood flow, and thus the oxygen level throughout your body. Duration and pace can be gradually increased as your comfort and confidence rise. With time, you may even find yourself back on the ballroom dance floor.

So how do you start on the road to a more youthful you? As with any exercise plan or lifestyle change, it is recommended that you get your physician's blessing. Fortunately, the range of isometric exercise is flexible enough to accommodate the frustrating ailments of aging. When you are ready to start, you can work with a trainer, find a gym which specializes in isometric exercise or buy an inexpensive DVD. Then grab a chair. Grab a chair? That's right; most of the easily assimilated exercises you will learn and use can be done while seated. The breathing techniques can be employed virtually anywhere at any time. Consider engaging your friends in some of the aerobic activities. You will enjoy the company and the motivation, and unite to fight back the years

The isometric exercise process will enable you to build strength and endurance, without suffering soreness. In less time than you can imagine, you will gain energy, drop those extra pounds, and lose those inches that have taken all the fun out of shopping. You are at a cross-road. Take your path with confidence and zeal. Finally, be polite but firm with that Boy Scout: you can cross the street without his help.
