Diabetes insipidus (DI) is a disorder in which an abnormal increase in the production of urine, liquid prerecording is frequently and thirst. It is caused by a deficiency of antidiuretic hormone, also known as vasopressin, or a kidney insensitivity to the hormone. It may also be iatrogenically induced by the diuretic conivaptan.
