Almost all eBay sellers caught “the eBay bug” the same way. At first, they started selling a few items around the home to make a little extra income. Later, when they discovered what a snap it was to convert “dust collectors” into cold hard cash in only a few days, they started selling almost anything that wasn't nailed down.
This strategy is okay for awhile. Selling unused items from your garage, or deals that you find at estate sales is excellent experience and can assist you to understand the basics of the eBay auction business. Nonetheless, you will likely not be able to generate any big time income by selling these types of “one off” items.
The most important part of making substantial cash on eBay is to market “cookie cutter” items that can be sold over and over again. Your objective ought to be to find items that will be bought quickly and for a healthy gain. You also want to identify items that can be sold in bulk.
As soon as you figure out the top selling products on eBay that bring in bids like bears to honey, all you have to do is relist the products each time one sells. I like to call these “cookie cutter” items. You only have to do the work of putting in place the online auction once. Then, you only have to click one button to relist the article and keep selling it over and over again the same way. Home Depot, Macy's and eBay Power Sellers all use this method.
Consumable items may be the most lucrative income generators of all. Following the initial sale, the article will be consumed and your client will need to reorder. With time, you will be able to form a loyal client base that will buy from you again and again, resulting in a lifetime income stream.
Uncovering hot products to sell on eBay is kind of like going fishing. If you want to land a boatload of fish, you must first find out where the fish are hiding and what they are biting. If you fish in a river with no fish, or if you use unsavory bait, you'll never hook any fish. The trick to catching all the fish you require is to cast the right bait into a river stuffed with voracious fish.
Likewise, you will never figure out how to make money on eBay if you are attempting to unload a product that nobody wants to a limited number of people. If you want to make a truckload of cash on eBay, the trick is to find a product that is in high demand and put it up for auction in the correct category.
Take advantage of the research tools offered by eBay, or use specialized software, to do your research. Either way, a little extra effort to uncover the really hot sellers can pay big dividends.
