The National Association of Chiefs of Police sent out a survey to twenty one thousand sheriffs and police chiefs across the country. This question was asked: "Do you believe any law-abiding citizen should be able to purchase a firearm for sport or self-defense?" In response to that question, ninety-three percent of officers responded positively, agreeing with the Second Amendment that the people should have the right to own and bear arms. Not only do our founding fathers support gun ownership (the Second Amendment states, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."), but many law enforcement officials also understand the importance of owning a firearm.



Call me comic book crazy, but every time I hear about the Second Amendment, I think of Spiderman. Remember what Uncle Ben said to Peter Parker in the car? He said, "Remember, with great power comes great responsibility." The Second Amendment gives us, as Americans, an incredible power. We have the right - the power - to own a gun, to keep that gun, and to use it. But with that power, comes a responsibility to be trained to handle that gun.

Firearms training is Dr. Ignatius Piazza's bailiwick. He was the second man in the world to secure a Four Weapons Combat Master certificate.
