Whats New In Fashion

    View:
The Spring Fashion shows of 2007 have already begun, and designers are showing off an eclectic mix of purses and other accessories to match the variances of taste shown by so many consumers in the modern era. Gone are the days of one leopard print purse taking the prizes and the cash for the whole season. Today's designers are coming up with original work that seems to have appeal across the spectrum; one woman's beauty is another woman's atrocity. Let's take a look at some of the different characteristics to be found in the 2007 purse lineup.

Size

There is only one purse size that is truly out this year, and that is large. Large purses take up too much space, and they are absolutely at odds with the concentration towards minimization that is the modern age. It's ridiculous to have a cell phone the size of a razor and a computer the size of your palm in a purse that could house a child with room to spare.

Medium sized purses are the biggest thing on today's market, as they have been for several years running. These purses are big enough to accommodate all your accessories without calling too much attention away from your outfit, or making you look bulky.

Collapsible purses have also been on display at recent shows, but the main knock against them is a lack of space. In fact, most models are little more than clutches.

Colour

The most appealing colours when it comes to purses and other accessories are still mild tones which help to complement the eye-catching wild side of today's fashions. Several designers have experimented with wild purses, but this really undermines the purpose of an accessory.

Straps

One big change in purses this year is in the style of strap, with Dior's modest designs being complemented with the addition of metal chain straps. Retro and unique, chain straps will probably be seen everywhere this season.

Frills

Seriously. Frills. Prada tries to get attention with the frills on their new purse lines, but the attention is all wrong. These purses look like they are holding some kind of animal that doesn't quite fit, and the effect is made worse through the attention-grabbing colours. A big pass on frills if you want to look like you belong in this millennium.

If we had to name a winner when it comes to this year's purse models, it would be the Dior line. The new purses combine the basic concept of accessorizing with just the right blend of strap retro and modern size.
What's New In Fashion
The world of adult orthodontics and children's orthodontics are no longer seen the same way. While these are still not fashionable treatments, they are becoming more a form of expression or deception, depending on the patient's preferences. Kids with metal mouths are no longer too embarrassed to smile and this is a huge benefit considering the length of some of these treatments. Headgear is still not a pleasant experience, but technological advancements have certainly made treatments more pleasant for patients of all ages.

The Revolution Of Adult Orthodontics

The biggest change in adult orthodontics is the number of people now using braces to improve the quality of their smile. The American Dental Association states that around 1.1 million adults are wearing braces in the country. This number has doubled since 1998. This is partially because those who could not have the treatment as children can now afford it. Yet another reason behind this immense growth is that new systems have been developed allowing patients to be treated without advertising it to the world.

While some patients choose traditional treatments, the latest trends in adult orthodontics are all about keeping treatment a secret from others. Clear brackets and styles that feature built in elastics make these appliances a lot less noticeable and more elegant looking than older versions. New methods, such as iBraces, sit on the inside of your teeth rather than on the fronts so that they are almost impossible to see when you smile. Other technologies, such as Invisalign, eliminate the metal all together and use a system of custom fit trays to move teeth into place.

New Trends In Children's Orthodontics

When a child needed braces twenty years ago, orthodontists had to use a standard appliance system. This involved the installation of stainless steel wires and brackets with basic elastics. These looked awkward and uncomfortable to the point they earned the nickname 'railroad track' braces. Today, these are becoming far more favorable. In fact, many movies and television shows now feature some of these appliances. Children's orthodontics is now a chance for kids to have a say in their treatment and make a personal and unique statement.

The elastics for braces are now available in almost any color you can think of. This means kids can select their own colors. Their teeth now sport their favorite colors or color schemes that match a favorite sports team, school colors, or a seasonal color palette. With the arrival of composites, these treatments can have particular themes and shapes. Some of the most popular include shapes such as flowers, stars, and sports themes. This means kids no longer have a reason to hide their braces.

For patients needing adult orthodontics and children's orthodontics, Huntington specialists and those throughout the country have a variety of options to choose from. Kids often make their braces bold and attention grabbing. For older patients, they can straighten their teeth and enjoy seeing what happens when someone notices the difference.
