There is some talk online that you can't make any money with eBooks and they are no longer worth creating. I would beg to differ with these people and I will give you a few reasons why eBooks should be created to act as a lead generation tool and increase traffic to your website.
Why create eBooks?
Number one, people are going to visit your website if you ever give that eBook away.
Two, they are looking for information if they are coming to your website. If you have created an eBook with the information they are looking for it makes it easy for them because you are already in their mind.
I'll give you an example of what I mean. About a year ago I was the best mad in my friend's wedding. The thing is, I had never done this before and knew nothing about being a best man.
To figure out what my duties were I went onto the internet to find any information about what I should be doing. I had to go from website to website and piece together the information together, but if there had been one eBook and outlined the duties and procedures needing to be done to be a best man, I know I would have bought it.
How do I know that? Because I have bought eBooks in a similar nature, for various other topics, outlining step by step what I needed to do.
There were two reasons why I bought these books, firstly because I was searching for the information. Secondly, the information I was looking for was nicely packaged together in a step by step procedure.
Next, here's another reason why you should be creating an eBook. You can advertise your products or services within the eBook.
Just think of your products acting like a funnel, the marketing funnel. Your eBooks are used as products at the top of the funnel. As you make your way down the funnel the products increase in price.
In order to make your costumers more likely to purchase your higher-priced items, you can use your eBooks as a tool to build your trust with them and demonstrate the level of valuable information you provide.
When people know, like and trust someone they are more likely to buy products from them, especially when they provide valuable information. An eBook is your way to show how much value you can provide.
What you are doing is creating an introductory product, which will help you lead them to purchase your higher-priced products. Within your eBook you can even introduce them to those products and services which will give them that opportunity if they want to take the next step.
You can advertise your other products and services making your eBook become a platform.
I want to put out a disclaimer here because you do not want to be creating an eBook that is just one big sales pitch. You want to make sure that you provide value in that eBook because you're on the line here. You're demonstrating what you can do for that client or customer.
It's like this article you are reading right now. I want all of you to purchase my other products, come to my seminar, to work closer with me. But in order to do that, I know that I've got to gain your trust and I've got to demonstrate the value of the information that I have and can provide to you.
In order to do that, I provide free articles like this one, and I try to jam pack as much information in to those articles so that you can't wait to get your hand on my next article or some of my products.
You should apply this to your eBooks and take the same philosophy. Pack as much information into your eBooks as possible while mentioning your other products and services. Be careful not to make it one big sales pitch, or people will be won't want to continue and are less likely to purchase anything else from you.
There are many reasons why you should be creating eBook, increasing your traffic and providing you a platfrom to introduce your other products or services are just two of them.
By exploring your creativity ideas will come to you when you need them the most!
