Skin care reviews are a great resource to use when you're on the market for a new skin care product. Instead of spending hundreds of dollars searching in vain for a product that works for you, you can look in a few magazines and see which one they recommend the most. Chances are, if the top beauty editors have found a product to be worthy of their time they will be worthy of yours as well. Besides saving you money on trying untested products, you can save a lot of time as well. For example, in the case of many face lotions and washes, you need to use the product consistently for several weeks before seeing any results. It can take a lot of time before you find out that a product isn't for you!



On the other hand, sometimes you need to be weary of skin care reviews. Some magazines recommend products because the companies pay for them to. It's almost like they took out a full page ad, but instead of you knowing it's an advertisement you think it's an objective review. In some cases, the reviews are right next to the regular ads that the companies have taken out! In those instances, it's rather easy to see that there isn't much objectivity involved. Online reviews are great, especially if you check out forums and hear what real people have to say about their experiences with the product.

All in all, skin care reviews can be awesome tools to take with you to the store. The important thing is to keep in mind that some of the positive reviews may have been paid for. Also, I suggest actually trying the products yourself. Just make a list of the ones you want, then start with the most affordable ones first. Once you've worked your way through those, you can try the more expensive brands.
