Its no secret that networking is integral to the success of every business. Connecting with people not only lets you create a customer base but you form meaningful relationships as well. Unfortunately quite a few people are still not taking advantage of online networking methods and those that do arent utilizing them properly. Below are two popular networking methods an how to use them to the advantage of your work at home opportunity.
Discussion forums
Discussion forums are basically electronic bulletin boards. But what makes them work so well as a networking method is the fact that there is a community aspect to them.
Members can quickly form bonds with each other and because the content created is open to non members, others can get a sense of who is a top contributor in each discussion forum. If they enjoy the topic they may then decided to join as well.
To make this networking method work for your work at home opportunity you have to be willing to spend a bit of time reading old posts and creating new relevant content in the forum. Members within the forum can be a tight nit group so if you dont feel welcome look for another forum that suits you, instead of forcing yourself to participate. This will only make networking seem like a chore and it shouldnt be.
It is recommended that you make at least 30 posts before you consider doing any joint ventures for your work at home opportunity or even promoting your site. However, if the forum lets you create a signature you can draw traffic to your site with just a few posts. In this case take a look at the signatures of the top members.
Discussion forums are not for blatant advertisements or shameless self promotion. You have to do it passively. The focus should be on creating content and forming bonds with the other members.
Social Networking sites
Contrary to popular belief social networking sites were not created for work at home opportunity owners to brazenly market their opportunity. Social networking is simply the grouping of individuals. It allows people of a common interest to come together. It can be done offline but it is more common online because it is faster and more entertaining.
Instead of just creating content like a discussion forum, social networking sites like facebook, and myspace let you create a personal space, and find and add friends that share your interest. You dont have to become buddies with everyone on the site just those you want. And your comments can be made private, instead of sharing them with virtually everyone.
If you are using social networking sites to promote your work at home opportunity you have to be choosy with your friends. Your goal is to meet people who have a common interest and network with them. You can create an impressive contact list with these sites as well as bookmark your website, so others can connect to your home business.
Social networking sites like Myspace or linkdin should not be confused with social booking sites like Digg or Stumbleupon. They arent the same. Discussion isnt as important on bookmarking sites nor is it likely to build business relationships on these sites. They are useful for creating traffic; social networking sites are used to create and build relationships.
By using the methods above you can connect with different people who share an interest in your home business niche. Some may become customers or clients, and others may become business partners or referrers. But taking the time to make friends with them can help you make a lot of money for work at home opportunity.
Work At Home Jobs Jobs
Perhaps you are like I was not so long ago. Maybe you have been toying around with the idea of running your own online business and you have been searching diligently for the perfect work at home program for you. You like the idea of low overhead, of being your own boss, of working in the comfort of your own home, and of utilizing your writing and internet skills to greater effect.
You see other people making money online, and you ask yourself how do they do it? Is it really a learnable skill, or do you need to possess some special knack or talent for it? And if I am somehow able to acquire these wonderful “internet marketing” skills that I keep hearing so much about, will I really be able to put everything I have learned into practice in my own life?
You have doubtless seen all the “get rich quick” schemes and scams out there. The web, sadly, is riddled with work at home scams, in large part because scammers realize that many people share a common dream of being able to work at home in order to spend more time with their loved ones. And unfortunately, the scammers are all too eager to prey on people's deepest desires.
You are not afraid of hard work, and you want a work at home program that is legitimate and is not based on silly, unrealistic “pie in the sky” thinking. Of course you also want a work from home job that is actually enjoyable and manageable, and that leaves you with some time left over for your family and yourself.
Most of all, you want an online business that genuinely utilizes your skills and creativity while actually allowing you to make a profit at the same time. For me, that program has turned out to be niche blogging. I work hard, but I like what I do, and it enables me to stay home with my family. What could be better than that?
You might already know everything you need to know about how to create your own successful niche blogging business. But if not, and if you enjoy working one-on-one with an effective and caring business coach/mentor, I highly recommend The Niche Blogger program run by Amy Bass.
What I needed — and maybe what you need as well — is exactly what her program provides: a customized, personalized work at home program that does not bombard you with too much information all at once. She is really big on walking you through the process baby step by baby step. As a matter of fact, I think Amy has a profound understanding of just how important it is to break big challenges down into smaller, more manageable steps. And, in my opinion at least, that is one of this particular work at home program's greatest strengths.
So, as you continue to educate yourself about the various work at home options available to you, I hope you'll consider adding niche blogging to that list. You never know, it might be just the right professional fit for you!
