This article was written specifically to help you understand and master the creative process, even if you aren't an artist. And you will start to feel better and better about yourself because you will realize you can be much more productive and successful in your life.
It is worth learning. You can cut through the inaccurate teachings of the past. It is how you shortcut to the success in your future. Let me tell you a little more about it.
During the early years of education many were taught that if you get it wrong the first time you had failed. You did not get the result that was expected of you. It may have been implied that you should just "give up" on the whole situation because of that failure.
Maybe you were even made to feel like a failure yourself because you couldn't do a particular task well. Unfortunately, that feeling for some has carried over into their entire life. They feel like total failures in life and it started with not doing that one thing right.
Have you dragged that ball and chain into adulthood? Maybe you felt you weren't good at relationships, sports, technical situations, making money or artistic and creative activities.
Ok, time to learn how to change that and I mean right now.
Your future depends on it. Remember when you first learned to tie your shoes? You failed the first few times didn't you? But your parents kept after you to take responsibility and keep trying.
The real reason for this is because they didn't want to tie your shoes for the rest of your life. They were motivated and so you got the encouragement you needed to keep trying each time you failed.
Take that from a small scale of learning to tie your shoes to a larger scale. Think of something you want to accomplish in your life. Would you like to start a new business, learn a language, travel to china? What is that one thing that you have been longing to do? Got it? If so read on.
To master the creative the process and reach your goal, the first thing you must do is take responsibility for where you are in your life right now. That is where you start to take control.
Have you noticed yet that if it is everybody else's fault that you are in your present situation then you have given your ability to change that circumstance to someone else. You have no capacity to improve your life because you really don't feel like you are in control. You are the cause of your thinking and you are responsible for it.
The second step in the creative process is that you have a thought about something you want to do, have or create. Thought is the foundation for your action. Here's why. You will only take action on a thought you believe in.
For example, if you believe that you will be buying a new red mustang you start seeing red mustangs everywhere. That thought has ignited an exciting image in your mind and is playing out in the real world. Weird isn't it?
Action is the first physical step in taking the thought into the world. This action might be in the form of research or learning about the best way to go about getting your desired result.
But there is more. Let me show you. This is the place that many people miss the boat. If you don't get your desired result the first time many people just give up and quit.
It would blow you away if you knew how close to a breakthrough you are at that particular moment! This part of the process is correction. Try it again. Try it a little differently. Try it with some advice from someone who has done it before. The point is don't give up. You are so close! Complete the correction process!
When you think about something in your life that you would like to accomplish maybe it seems too big of a dream and you don't really feel it will ever happen.
I hate to say this, because I don't know you very well, but you are wrong! You can do it. You just need to know, understand and practice this process, step by step to the final completed result. So, if the desire is real, and not just something that would be nice to have or fun to do, follow the creative process and you will accomplish that goal!
Let's look at the creative process one last time.
Cause ~ Thought ~ Action ~ Result ~ Correction
You are the cause of a thought upon which you take action which produces a result and you make a correction until you finish it. Which is what I just did with this article!

You Change My Life The Movie
Kaizen is all based upon this single principle. Begin with just one little step and then continue to improve. The definition of the word Kaizen, in Japanese, is "improvement."
The framework for Kaizen is simple:
1. Seiri - tidiness
2. Seiton - orderliness
3. Seiso - cleanliness
4. Seiketsu - standardized clean-up
5. Shitsuke - discipline
We are people of habit. We tend to like things the way they are; the way they have always been. So making a big change in our life can be a difficult, and often impossible task. Yet so often, we see a person who has made a large change in their life. Often, if you were to ask that person how they managed to make that change, they would tell you that they did not change all at once. They made small changes over time. Small steps, the basic principal of Kaizen, can help you to change your life for the better.
It take baby steps to make big changes in your life. This is what it takes to be successful in achieving your goals. You develop new habits by making small changes leading to success. Let's say you need to clean up your clutter around the house. You can spend at least 5 minutes a day going through stuff and getting rid of what you don't want.
You can get real outcomes when you apply focused practice. Minor modifications made gradually really produce results. If you've ever resolved to make a change and fell short, you are aware of how difficult it is to succeed in making major transformations. For instance, if you want to de-clutter your house, you might begin simply by taking a few minutes daily to sort through your mail and throw out any junk mail at once.
Ponder the unsavory habits you might have: maybe you began eating a Danish every morning and currently you are 30 pounds overweight. Fad diets probably won't help you, but substituting an apple for a Danish, as time goes by, will help you.
Let's look at some real life ways that Kaizen can help you in the workplace. Kaizen doesn't just talk about efficiency, for example; it makes efficiency happen. It reveals how small tasks, each accomplished in a just minutes, can add up to a major improvement. A few minutes to file stray papers, perhaps another moment to straighten files, another few to dust the surface, and a messy desk becomes presentable. It works with mental processes too, like learning a new computer program, or a new language. Break down a daunting task into a series of more manageable ones, and a job can be done with ease.
Ponder the following questions:
How might you want to improve? What's your end-goal? How will you figure out when you've attained that milestone?
An old paradox asks how do you eat an elephant, with the correct response being, one bite at a time. Figure out what it is you want to make headway with, then set about accomplishing this!
