Barbeque Dry Rub Recipes |
|
Rubs are the heart and soul of any barbeque. These simple mixtures of everyday ingredients can transform an ordinary piece of meat into a mouth-watering work of art. Pretty much all barbeque dry rub recipes are centered around the same core ingredients. You can mix match all you want to find just the right rub for you. But they all come down to the same basic ingredients. Here's a basic yet delicious barbeque dry rub recipe: 1/4 cup brown sugar Combine all of the ingredients in a small mixing bowl and stir them thoroughly. Personally I find it easier if you use your hands to mix instead of a spoon. As you mix, use your fingers to break up any chunks of brown sugar. You want your dry rub to be smooth and mixed evenly. Sprinkle it generously over your meat and use your fingers to gently rub it in. You should apply dry rubs at least several hours before grilling so they have a chance to season the meat. If possible, apply the rub a day in advance so it can sit overnight. This brings out the deep layers of flavor that people associate with barbeque. Now as I said earlier, there are thousands of barbeque dry rub recipes and you can experiment all you want until you find one (or more) that you love. Start with the recipe I gave you above and work from there. Add in new spices and see if you can find something you like better.
