Food is one of the most talked about subjects; there are lots of myths about it. Do preservatives do any harm? No, they don't. Preservatives prevent food from people making sick and they allow to store foods for much longer time. Is eating fast good for you? No. Then more you chew then less you leave to do for your stomach. It's recommended to chew each portion you put in the mouth for at least 10 times. Also don't just bite and swallow; your teeth have different functions. Those more in front are for cutting and those on the back are for grinding. Use them what they are made for. Can one apple a day maintain your health? Yes, it can! Apples are very valuable fruits which are rich in vitamins and mineral substances necessary for the body. Also they reduce the risk of cancer, lower cholesterol and give you a vitamin boost. Do beans cause gas? Yes they cause. They are fibre rich. Actually, many fibre rich products cause gas. For example corn and peppers can cause gas as well. Does coffee reduce the symptoms of hangover? No it doesn't. Caffeine can't cure a hang over. You get hung over because you are lacking water. The alcohol took a big chunk of the water from your system. Caffeine actually makes you urinate. So really it has the opposite effect. Can bad breath be taken away by parsley? Yes, it can. So does other green leafy veggies that contain chlorophyll. Can swallowed gum cause stomach problems? No, chewing gum can't cause serious problems to your stomach. However, it can cause gas, abdominal pain, and diarrhoea. Can pain be relieved by cherries? Yes, it can! People who eat at least 20 tart cherries a day have a reduction in pain from arthritis. Can eyesight be improved by carrots? No, it can't! Carrots are rich in carotene and they can help you to maintain your eyesight, but unfortunately no improvements can be made. You can see that many myths which are considered as a true actually are just myths. If you aren't sure about something, especially if it's something really serious what can have an influence of your health, do a research about it.
