Greenhouse at the Ritz Carlton is an award-winning restaurant, it is mainly popular for its buffet servings and champagne brunch.
My trip there last month had me starting to crave for Sunday Brunch....I just loved their sinful pastries and desserts.
very nice restaurant...
good food and they serve us very friendly
i will come back again for next dinner :)
If you like a nice ambience, good food and generous servings that come with a reasonable price, head out to Green House Resto in Ritz Carlton.
I got myself a Club Sandwitch @ only SGD 15 while getting to enjoy the relax environment.
Dinner Buffet:
Adult: $66++, Child (4-12 years): $33++
My colleague and I went to the restaurant "Greenhouse" because they had a 1-for-1 weekday lunch promotion. We were led to a table near the window which was overlooking the beautiful lush greenery outside. The cushioned seat was comfortable and the round table was sufficiently big for the two of us.
Here\'s an overview of the buffet spread:
- Salad Bar
- Cold cut section
- Warm food
- Soup section
- Bread & Cheese section
- Roast section
- Ice-cream section
The choices available for beverages were limited to ice water, hot coffee and tea, which will be ordered and served through the waiters.
The sashimi was pretty fresh so I had two plates of it.
However the cooked food was ordinary with regards to the variety and I wasn\'t that impressed. There were steamed fish, indian curry with naan, teriyaki chicken pieces and vegetables, just to name a few.
For the roast section, the chef sliced some roast duck and pork off for me on the spot. The roast duck was sweet and tender while the roast pork went well with the sauce.
The cold crabs were put out only after all the guests had their fill. I would presume it\'s the restaurant\'s strategy to not let the guests take too much of them. Since my stomach still had some space after tasting a bit of everything, I decided to try the cold crabs. When I was about to start eating, I saw a strand of hair entangled in my crab. I was disgusted and immediately showed it to the restaurant manager who hurriedly informed the restaurant\'s head chef. He came over to our table to apologize and offered to give us anything that we would like from the kitchen. As we were already quite bloated, I told him it\'s fine. Frankly speaking, I am reasonably pleased with the swift response to my complaint.
The head chef insisted on compensating us for their carelessness, so we gave in and ordered two glasses of orange juice. To my surprise, the orange juice was freshly squeezed!
I have to mention that their mango dessert was awesome. Take a look at my pictures to see the generous chunks of mangoes they gave!
Overall, I was pleased with their service. Used plates were cleared quickly and the food was replenished constantly.
1 for 1 Lunch Buffet (Mon & Tues only):
Adult: $56++, Child (6 to 12 years): $28++
This is the second time i visited this place. The first time I was here was when my friend celebrated my birthday a few years ago, and this time round was celebrating a friend\'s birthday with a big group of friends.
Fresh oysters and sashimi were my favorite food, so usually i will \'focus\' and target onthese 2 dishes. Both the oyster and sashimi were fresh here which i really like! Which i ended up having 14 oysters - my highest record so far. haha.
Oh, not forgetting their desserts.I have tried most of the chocolate dessert, all were nice especiallythe chocolate fudge cake. The tiramisu was very nice too.
Hmm.. Although the food here is nice and fresh but i think the buffet here is rather pricey. So i think wont be here the 3rd time again, unless there is some kind of promotion.
It was really a very good deal for us ladies. With credit card promotion and we actually booked 3 weeks in advance. And finally we went for the buffet 1-for-1. That was my first time going there. The ambiance was elegant and with the floral surrounding. My most favorite food was the chili crab and the first time when we got it was very delicious. The taste still lingering in my mind. The promotion of Wednesday 1-for-1 buffet dinner for ladies using DBS card was too hard to resist so off I went with the ladies in my family. When we arrived at 6:30pm, the places was not packed but the crowd started swelling about 7pm – 90% were ladies of course, with an occasional men milling around.
The last time I came to Greenhouse was for their champagne brunch which was absolutely fabulous, and I was expecting the same standard although of course not the same fare. In fact I half expected them to sting on the quality and quantity as almost all of us there were paying half price with the promotion but they didn’t. Nice!
Seafood – an extravagant spread of freshly oysters, flower crabs, prawns, clams, and mussels. All were very fresh and the prawns of a very good size I must say. The only gripe is that the flower crab was not cracked so I gave up on some pieces halfway.
Had birthday celebration over there
There\'s seafood,sushi,desserts...
Their seafood is quite fresh
but that day we went there\'s limited choice of seafood
I like their desserts, especially Tiramisu cake
The ice cream is nice but flavours ran out quickly
& waited for quite long for them to replenished
It was my 22nd birthday last week and my boyfriend had a surprise dinner planned for me. He brought me to Ritz-Carlton Millenia and it was only then that I learned that Ritz-Carlton is one of the few 6-star hotels in Singapore. And all this while I though Fullerton was the one & only.
I’m sure we all know that that essentially means that Ritz-Carlton is an equivalent to Fullerton. *gasp*
Anyway, he brought me around the hotel first \'cos we were there too early - they only let diners in at 6.30pm for the dinner buffet.
Once we were seated at 6.30 sharp, we couldn\'t wait but to immediately head to the food to check out the spread.
They buffet basically included sashimi, sushi, soups, fresh seafood (oysters, king prawns, crayfish, etc), Indian briyani & curries, roasted chicken, roast duck, seafood omelette, salads, appetisers, chili crab, pork belly, pork trotters, roasted beef, buttered cod fish, dory fillet, teriyaki chicken, bacon quiche, etc.
There was also this ‘vegetarian corner’ with dried fruits and a variety of nuts. Sounds healthy right? But this being Singapore, with most diners there Singaporeans,it wasn’t the least bit surprising that hardly anyone stopped by for more than a quick scan.
Also had sushi’s that no one really took… only because the Sashimi spread was just opposite. Haha.
I had rounds after rounds of food and if only my stomach had no space limit, i swear I would\'ve eaten more.
Went on to the desserts, which looked oh-so-tempting!!
Don’t be surprised, but I quite literally managed to try every single one of them.
It was definitely a night never to be forgotten
My colleagues & I decide to go to Ritz Carlton Hotel for their famous 1 for 1 promotion.
The ambience was very high class and comfortable.
I decided to start with their seafood.
Sashimi was great. They had salmon & salmon belly as well as tuna. There were mussels & even oysters which were highly demanded that night.
They had a great variety of food, ranging from japanese sushito indian cuisine,to chinese cuisine.
For japanese, they had cold noodle, sashimi, sushi, fresh crabs & prawns as well.
For indian, they had bryani ricewith vegetable, butter chicken(super awesome),lamb curry,& super fluffy naan which is really good. They had samosa as well.
Their bread selection was really great.I was spoiled for choices.
They even had a vegetarian corner which I was really disappointed in.
There wasnt a decent vegetarian dish at all.
Onion were fried as a dish.
What I would suggest is to either have proper chinese vegetarian dish or to have indian vegetarian instead so that at least vegetarians will be able to enjoy the buffet.
The highlight of the night was their chocolate. The chocolate were awesome bite size.
Milk chocolate was everyone\'s favourite & alot of people grabbed it once it was restocked.
I love their rum & raisin ice cream.
Ice cream flavours that were offered:chocolate,vanilla,rum & raisin,mango sorbet,lime sorbet,raspberry sorbet & a raspberry/strawberry ice cream.
Didnt manage to try the crepe as the queue was really long.
I\'ll definitely go again if there\'s a promotion.
A great hotel spread for a hotel buffet.
