Another cake in a jar shop, located in a HDB estate. Uses only fresh ingredient. Like the packaging of the jar, comes with a string for you to take aways.
The merest mention of the word “cake” can turn my head, so naturally, I am always on the lookout for places to try. If you are a dessert lover like me, you must check out Grin Affair, a new cake shop – nestled in the quiet Everton Park estate (where you can also find Nylon Coffee Roasters) – which serves cakes in glass jars.
Cakes that kept in the bottle. Ideal for gift.
Spent over $70++ there this afternoon.
Value for money as the jar cakes tasted so fresh & smooth. My family members loved it.
Famed for fresh natural ingredients in the making of their mousse cake..which were sold in jar.
Bought them as breakfast for my 2 'gal' n 1 'son'....
The cakes here are served in quaint jars with flavors such as Kiwi cheesecake and honey lavender. A unique helping of desserts!
Situated in a quiet neighbourhood of Tanjong Pagar,Grin Affair is located at the void deck of a HDB estate.
On my first visit, me and my fellow buddy were expecting an open concept cafe, but to my pleasant surprise, it was actually an enclosed \'shop\'. Upon stepping into the place, we were greeted by the friendly owner and a wide variety of photos of the moose cakes on the menu on the wall.
The moose cakes were contained in jars and chilled. Prices ranged from $4.80 - $5.50. Looking at the jars just made me so happy. We bought them as take-aways as the shop has limited seating capacity.
We tried the strawberry custard and boy was it so refreshing! There were chunks of strawberry with a mix of strawberry moose and layered with vanilla sponge cake. Right at the bottom were crumbs which the texture was like oats-like? I personally didn\'t enjoy the last part, but overall it was an interesting combination.
Matcha and azuki bean moose cake wasn\'t what we might commonly see in menus and of course we couldn\'t miss it. There were chunks of azuki beans mixed with green tea moose and layered with vanilla sponge cake, topped up with walnuts. The moose was not too mushy and i thought the taste was acceptable, not too strong of a matcha taste which non-matcha fans can give it a try.
and of course, we couldn\'t have walked out without the dark chocolate and durian moose cakes!! Dark chocolate was so chocolately, and there was a ball-like chocolate at the top of the cake, with layers of chocolate moose and chocolate sponge cake. I personally enjoyed this the most and it was enough to satisfy my chocolate craving. Durian was a sinful but delectable one, as we both thought the durian moose was very rich and fresh, and of coursed layered over sponge cake as well. yumz
Owner said that as these are freshly made, it is best to not keep them for long. Customers are encouraged to return empty jars to her where she has this \'return jar\' policy which entitles to redemption of dried fruits - check out her web for more information =)
