ice-cream lovers, here is the place that serve with premium ingredients and with no artificial flavours and colourings.
Island creamery is amongst one of the many local ice cream joints that have been sprouting vigorously in recent years. But what sets them apart from the other ice cream joints is the locality aspect of their ice cream selection. Expect interesting familiar local flavours such as Chendol, Bulu Hitam and Bandung. So if you’re craving for ice cream and would want to go traditional, give Island creamery a try!
The chocolate is my favourite flavour! One is never enough.
Love the ice cream!
For all schools around and near bukit timah, the word, Island Creamery should ring a bell.
When I was much younger, the only flavours I knew were chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla. Life was uncomplicated.
Was craving for ice cream so i went to my favourite island creamery wanting to order my favourite reverso but to my disappointment, it was almost finishing and the lady said it would not be enough for one scoop and advised me to pick another flavour instead. It was only 2pm when i went so i also cannot understand why is it that it is already sold out so quickly!!! So i decided to pick cookies and cream and it was alright. I wouldn\'t say it is mad nice or what but just really average though. But the oreo bits inside it was quite big and crunchy. There was only one lady helper inside the store so service would be quite slow.
My all time favourite has to be Very Berry. The ice cream is always soft and creamy with a nice milky taste. Pieces of frozen berries can be found in the ice cream itself. This has been the best as compared to the rest out there. It is really an enjoyment in eating it. The service level is rather good in the Holland Village outlet. I am interested to try out their other flavours the next time.
Place an order for a ice cream birthday cake in celebration for my friend\'s birthday. The cake might look simple, but it taste really good. We were all really satisfied with the cake. The chocolate crunch on the outside goes well with the ice cream in the inside. It was not too sweet, and it blends really well. A good place to get your cakes and dessert.
Brain freeze yourself with some unique flavor ice cream like tiger beer and pear sake in this hot weather.
I liked having ice creams at island creamery because they produce very innovative ice creams that reflect local beverages/desserts like the horlicks, teh tarik, pulot hitam and even tiger beer ice cream! I went for the teh tarik ice cream with waffle. The teh tarik ice cream is very rich in the taste of condensed milk and it is very creamy as well. I felt that the tea flavour was brought out in the ice cream as well. In addition, the waffle is also very nice and it is served warm off the griddle.
First tried island creamery at serene centre and just chanced upon an island creamery outlet here and bought one single scoop to eat. Love their reverso ice cream, it is a dark chocolate ice cream with oreo bits in it. The single scoop was priced at $2.80 which i feel is very affordable. Would definitely come back and try out the other flavours available. The flavours here might be limited but then it is more accessible as compared to serene centre outlet.
I think this is the only outlet of this ice cream chain in which diners can only take out. The branch at Great World City sadly only offers a more limited range of ice cream flavours. Besides that, the ice cream itself was good to summarise my experience.Their cookies & cream ice cream tasted pretty much like your run off the mill ice cream which meant that it did not stand out from the rest of its field of competitors. However, its Pulot Hitam flavour was especially memorable for me as I had not tried out such an exotic flavoured ice cream which was tailored for the Singaporean taste buds! The Pulot Hitam was creamy and tasted rather similar to yam flavoured ice cream with traces of red beans. It resulted in a sweet creamy ice cream with additional red bean bits for you to chew on. Yummy! Spending: Approximately SGD 3(Night Snack)
For more photos, please visit Rubbish Eat Rubbish Grow: http://rubbisheatrubbishgrow.wordpress.com/2011/12/15/island-creamery-bukit-timah/ After eating so much at The Curry Wok, we wanted to eat more. Naturally. Like kindness begetting kindness, eating also begets more eating. We were shocked at how this looked like ulu land on the outside, but the parlor was bustling. So popular with families, teenagers, students, and bears aka fat gay men! The decor looks like a bad and cheap imitation of 1950s American restaurants. Definitely not a date place, unless you’re a teenager.Mudpie was mine while Mr NGFL got two scoops of ice kalim. The mudpie was not bad, with coffee ice cream on the top, cookies-and-cream ice kalim at the bottom and a very awesome peanut-buttery(?) crust. After we finished – did we stop? OF COURSE NOT! We shared an apple pie with a scoop of burnt caramel ice kalim. The two of them went very well together (I have good taste, I picked the ice cream although Mr NGFL insisted he was the one). The apple pie was cold when I like the apple pie to be hot. It wasn’t too sweet or sour. The crust wasn’t the flaky kind; it was the doughy kind. Mr NGFL liked it but I’m not sure how I feel about carb-by crust and wolfed everything down anyway. You can see how run-down the ice cream parlor is becoming over the years. The ice cream is still good but then ice cream is ice cream – the few bad ice creams… we call it “sorbet.” But still, a nice way to end dinner. We liked everything we ate. Less noisy teenagers–or teenagers hanging out in groups with a confused teenager who doesn’t know yet he’s gay–would be nice but then again, in American movies, teenagers hang out at ice cream parlors all the time too. Recommended if you want good ice cream and don’t mind teenagers or are a pedophile. It’s Pedophile Hunting Ground, peeps! Licky lick.
It was my aunt\'s birthday. We bought a cake from Island Creamery. Their cake tasted PRETTY GOOD! There was this biscuit as the side of the cakes, and the inner part was ice-cream. If iam not wrong it was a cookies and cream ice-cream. The price was reasonable and service was not bad. I would go back to try their ice-creams.
The ice cream was alright, wouldn’t deny that I was quite disappointed with it. The nutella icecream was too sweet and i couldn’t taste any nutella in it. However the mudpie was surprisingly good, and melts in your mouth within seconds. One of the best mudpies I’ve ever tasted so far!
i was craving for some nice ice cream, so i brought my girlfriend back to island creamery for some nice ice cream and brownie. we ordered their brownie with a scoop of ice cream on top. the brownie is really good. very rich in their chocolate flavour. topped with really nice and creamy ice cream, it is absolute bliss. love the ice cream slowly melting on the brownie. totally delicious!
I have been patronizing this particular outlet on a regular basis since it opened. All these years, my favorite has always been the \'Very Berry\'. Island Creamery is supposed to be the first ice cream parlor in Singapore that produces freshly made local flavors premium ice cream like the Teh Tarik and Pulut Hitam which i have yet to try. Though there are many ice cream parlors now but i am still one of their biggest supporters. It is always a happy thing to drop by here or their outlets to take away my favorite ice cream and to have them in the comfort of my home. Scooping up frozen raspberries and strawberries embedded in the \'Very Berry\' ice cream is another joy. I am absolutely loving it. Strongly recommended.
Had chocolate peanut butter ice cream and cookies and cream ice cream at Island Creamery last weekend. Was good! However, the staff were not very patient as I wanted to try a few flavours. Oh well, I figured out it could be that they had a long day. But service is still important yah? great ice cream though.
Care for some local flavoured ice-creams? This\'s the place. They offer a large variety of ice-creams with those familiar local flavours like Pulut Hitam, Teh Talek, Horlicks, Milo, Durian, Nutella and many many more. My personal favourite is Horlicks.I normally topped it up with the Horlicks powder provided by the shop. They have Milo powder too. I have tried Teh Talek and Nutella too. Teh Talek tasted like milk tea, as the name imply. The taste of the nutella was not quite like nutella. My kids love the ice-creams here and we visit almost every week.
Ordered this because it looks pretty and I\'ve never tried it before.Didn\'t regret my choice because it is really yummy.Warm on the outside and cold on the inside. My mini baked alaska came with strawberry ice cream inside the cream. The ice cream has real fruits in it...I could even taste the big chunky strawberry.S$4.80.
3 scoops for $5.50 We tried pulau hitam, durain and reverso. The pulau hitam taste exactly like the dessert itself - one can taste the soft black glutinous rice which added to the wonderful ice-cream. Durain flavour was rather average, I prefer Udders. Reverso flavour was surprisingly yummmy! We wanted a chocolate ice-cream and randomly selected reverso. It came across as an ice-cream with thick chocolate taste but not sweet.Spending: Approximately SGD 5.50(Other)
the ice cream at island creamery is really delicious. just the ice cream itself is rich and flavourful. my son brought us there to try. he recommended us this place caused they served us with local flavours ice cream. their ice cream is very smooth, and creamy. the flavours like Teh Tarik, nutella and chocolate peanut butter were among the nicer ones. all these flavours are similar to the original. the place is also very comfy and cosy, great place to enjoy an afternoon snack.
If you\'re a icecream or dessert lover, you must visit Island Cremery then! They serve a wide range of ice cream flavour, alot more than you can think of! Also, they also provide customers with cakes such as mudpie and ice cream cakes. MUDPIE is a must try! It\'s so delicious, that\'s my fav. Other than the taste, the environment is also very comfortable. If i\'m not wrong, students can go there to study as well. You can also print your photos with the instant photo machine there and paste it on the wall. I must say Island cremery is the perfect place for students/ adults to hang out with their friends after work/school!
A couple of my friends organized a catch up session at island creamery. At first, I was kind of lost, what was that place. Never hear of it before. It turned out to be an ice cream shop. There were quite a lot of different flavoured ice cream lined up for our selection. I ordered my favourite nutella and teh tarik flavours. They were awesome. Let me start with the nutella flavor, as a nutella fan, I have been eating it since young. Apparently there was no alterations done to the flavor, it tasted as unique and nutty. The teh tarik was another heart stopper, the ice cream was not too sweet, yet the teh taste was not too overpowering. I like the local fare in their ice cream!
The Mc Donald at King Albert Park is the most prominent, thus people always neglect the other shops there. Island Creamery is one of those places, but despite that, the place was packed on a friday night. There was no seats left. Surprisingly, there was no Reverse O over the counter on that day and so, i ordered the mudpie again. This time round, the mudpie melts really fast but i still managed to polished it within minutes with my friends. Love the sweet and thick caramel at the bottom. I had to buy the tub of apple pie home. I love the tinge of cinnamon with digestive biscuit and apple. Very yummy! A must have at any island creamery, anytime.
I just love homemade ice creams. There is something about them that keeps me coming back and I am always game to try new ice cream palours selling homemade ice cream. Hence, I was very excited when my friend brought me to this place, where she claims sells one of the best ice cream. She picked both of these flavours for us to share. The texture of the ice cream was quite thick and it has just the right level of sweetness. I think they do not add eggs into the mixture, which explains its slightly airy and less rich flavour. But still, it is really delicious. Both of us wiped the cup clean.
A home-grown brand. What really interests me isn\'t actually their unique local flavors like Chendol, Durian, Bandung, Milo Ping Pong (Milo-flavored ice cream with marsh mellows) or even Tiger Beer sorbet, but instead, their chocolate flavors or their good and affordable Mud Pie. I shared a double scoop with my boyfriend and that explains the other flavor in white: Soursop. Mine was the Reverse-O, basically rich chocolate ice-cream with oreo cookie chunks, simply indulging. One of my favorites of all time. Not my first time and Island Creamery and certainly will return!
I had always wanted to try the mud pie at island creamery, but for the past few times that i went, i was too late and i was always that it was sold out for the day. So, i was super excited when i managed to order it this time round when i went around lunch time. This is sheer delight for any oreo and chocolate lover out there! Simply delicious! Though it is necessary to wait for it to thaw for a moment before we could have it (it was frozen solid). But the thick rice chocolate ice cream on top and cookie and cream at the bottom is heavenly. For $4.80, this is the most worth while and best mudpie i had in a long time.
My first experience with this ice cream shop was at Serene Centre. Since then, I become a fan of their ice cream. Not only that they serve ice cream, they also sells ice cream cake. Now some of the branches even serve cakes. But this branch at Great world is considered small as compared to other outlets. But the quality is as good as the rest. Personally, I like their Pulau Hitam, Teh Tarik and chocolate peanut. As for the ice cream cake, I like their bomb alaska. This place is definitely value for money as to compare to other famous ice cream shops.
It\'s a good hangout place for my friends and I. We always head there for supper. On friday and weekends nights, the place can be packed. They have the rare delicious ice-cream flavors like teh tarik. The local flavors. I will always pick at least 2 flavors in a cup. Prices are reasonable and staff are friendly.
While it has its devotees, Island Creamery left me disappointed. I was initially excited about their range of local ice cream flavors, but I was so disatisfied with the flavors I had sampled (namely chendol, papaya sorbet, pulut hitam and teh tarik) that I was tempted to leave without getting any ice cream.

For courtesy's sake, I ordered a scoop of Black Forest ($3) as it had been honored in the Straits Times' 2009 compilation of the 100 Best Dishes in Singapore. Comprising dark chocolate ice cream spiked up with rum- and brandy-soaked cherries, this flavor fared better than those that I had tried but still failed the texture test.

A sweet toothy like me will never give this a miss...regardless how full i am after a meal.....

They have a wide range of ice-cream flavours that you cannot easily get outside and each of the flavours has a unique and rich taste.

My favourite would be Pulut Hitam, Soursop Sobet,Tiger Beer, Horlick,Double Chocolate...i think i have easily list out all their hot selling items.

Other than the ice-cream, they have a signature "cake" call the Mud Pie!! A very rich dark chocolate ice-cream n orea crust biscuits..Aw!! Nothing can be more delicious as compare! However during my last visit, I tried their new creation- The Nutty Buddy which contains hot fudge, oreo ice cream with a generous portion of nuts...and i thought I still prefer the Mud Pie to the Nutty Buddy!

I'll favor Island creamery anytime over major international ice cream brand.

To begin with, I'm dont really have a sweet tooth.
The flavor are not overpowered, not too sweet, not too 'jelut'.
Their flavor are unique and reasonably priced. My few visit to Island creamery was a pleasant one. It never failed to deliver to what I've expected.

My favorite flavour: Apple crumble, Teh tarik, Hazelnuts !

The apple crums are surprisingly good. I got hooked the first time I tried.
Its a must-order-flavor for me whenever I return to the creamery island

Sorry - No pictures! The ice cream melted in my stomach before I could even take one!
