t was full when we got there, so we waited a while before getting our seats. Cheapest dessert range from $2 to the more expensive ones at $4. Don’t belittle the small bowl of dessert, it makes big money selling them. Sesame paste, Original Herbal Jelly, Walnut past, Mango grape fruit ice from top to clockwise.
the mango sago dessert is refreshing! the crushed ice is just right for the hot weather.. the mango fruit and sago taste really good.
Longing for something sweet? Check out ji de chi here in Liang seah street, the original shop here.
Loving the chocolate chip snowy ice! :)
This black sesame cream dessert is one of my favourite choice when I visit this dessert shop. The black sesame is really thick and full of the fragrant from the natural black sesame used in the making. It is not too sweet and very ideal for different types of age group of people. At three dollars per bowl,I think this is quite worth your money as the quality from their dessert is assured here.
This is my first visit to Ji De Chi and I am glad to say that their desserts never disappoint me. There is actually large variety of choices and most of them are of reasonable price, so do not hesitate do give it a try when you happened to pass by. I ordered their durian baked puff. and amazingly, the looked alone had attracted me and made me hungry. The durian mix is yummy and tasted well with the freshly baked puff rolls. and they are not oily at all!
I always go to Ji De Chi for their durian desserts, and didn\'t really try out other options. Howvere, now only I realized their soya beancurd dessert is actually quite nice. This silky beancurd has such a strong flavour of soya beans and the texture is pleasantly smooth. Very tasty and not too sweet. It tastes so delicious and refreshing when it is served cold. Yummy!
Heard Ji De Chi had really nice desserts, so decided to pop by after having dinner at Tai Seng (yes, i went all this way just to have desserts!). When i reached there with my friends, the place was quite packed. We had to wait a while before there were seats available.
The menu was quite intensive, with choices for both hot or cold for some of their desserts. Prices were also considered quite reasonable. Come all the way, of course it\'s a MUST to try their durian desserts! We ordered most of their durian desserts, but one or two were sold out.Still, the ones we ordered were SUPER NICE!!!
I love to eat dessert especially the cold ones!!
The sweet spring at amk hub was my favorite place to hang out and taste their cold desserts but recently they decided to move out. So sad ==...
One of my friends knew it and she recommended Ji De Chi Dessert to me.
Went to Ji De Chi Dessert with my roommate. I had ordered the Mango Pamelo Sago. Th dessert tasted nice and refreshing but the portion is a little bit small.
Will revisit this shop again and again!!!
It has been a while since I went to Ji De Chi, and this trip just made me miss the desserts there even more. I ordered the mocha shaved ice which comes with nata de coco and mochi balls. The shaved ice is drizzled with some chocolate syrup and it tasted much better than I have imagined it to be as the shaved ice just melts in your mouth. The mocha flavour is subtle but just enough to make me reach for more spoonfuls of the shaved ice. I like pairing it with the mochi balls as the mochi balls are chewy and give a different texture to the dessert.
Here at Ji De Chi, I will always order my favourite dessert which is the black sesame hot dessert. The black sesame cream is really smooth in texture and is thick in flavour.I like it alot as it is not too sweet so I will not have to worry about too much sugar intake after having this hot dessert. At less than three dollars per bowl, I think the price is quite reasonable and their serving is quite fast as well.So do not forget to eat (ji de chi) this hot dessert if you happen to patron this shop one of these days.Spending: Approximately SGD 3.00(Lunch)
I was used to frequent ah chew desserts until someone recommended ji de chi to me. ji de chi offers more varieties, and I have always managed to get seated immediately (after dinner). this restaurant is hiding and a corner of Boon lay, despite the location, many customer there. need to queue.
The snow ice desserts are done very well - the layers do not stick together and they melt smoothly in your mouth. I’ve tried the strawberries mango shaved ice and I thought the flavors really complement each other.
Spending: Approximately SGD 7
Ji De Chi dessert shop is famous for their ice-shaved. However, I reckon other desserts are pretty tasty too! For instant, I have tried their Double milk with fresh durian ($4.5)! It\'s so delicious. You get to taste the silkily smooth double milk, as well as the rich flavoured durian filling in one go! How fantastic is that. If you are the durian lover, you could get more durian filling with an additional $1.Spending: Approximately SGD 15(Tea)
Viisted Ji De Chi Dessert just opposite of the famous Ah Chew Dessert in Liang Seah street area. Was quite skeptical about the place as i always patronise the latter. Nvertheless, decide to give it a try. I ordered the cold steamed milk, it cost me $3.20. The steam milk at Ji De Chi tasted the same as Ah Chew\'s, if not better. The texture is smooth and it just melts in your mouth. *Recommended*Spending: Approximately SGD 3.20(Other)
Tried a few of the desserts at Ji de Chi.
Mixed ball ginger soup ($2.50). I love spicy ginger soup and this one was fierce. Love it. The balls were thin-skinned and had ample filling. I also like the traditional look of pink balls.
Durian with pomelo ($6). This was blardy brilliant! Every time I eat durian, I will get sore throat the next day. I\'m not hot, but "heaty." When I first ate this at the now-closed-down Chinatown branch, it blew me away, it was made of bittersweet durian. So great! The quality of the durian has dropped a little--perhaps a different supplier to save costs?--but still good at any standards. This is a must-order. In fact, I think the entire menu can go to dogs, the desserts are all average to poor, except this durian.
Chee Cheong Fun ($1.20). Because, as Rebecca Black sings, it\'s fun fun fun fun! Uninspiring.
All in all, crowded, just eat and leave place, ok service, but seriously, none of the desserts is comparable to Mei Heong Yuan except for the Durian.Spending: Approximately SGD 5
This water chestnut cake or ma ti gao is a perfect dessert to cool down after a heaty meal. From the picture you can already see the high chunks of chopped chestnuts within the cake which shows that the stall does not stinge on the ingredients. The chestnut cake is very juicy and the chopped chestnuts add a lot of crunch and bite to the cake. I love this crunchy texture than having the chestnuts minced finely. In addition, the chestnut cake is not too sweet also, so ups for that!
I used to frequent ah chew desserts until someone recommended ji de chi to me. Ah Chew is more favorable for hot dessert; while we decided to go for some cold ones. They just located facing each other.Ji de chi offers more varieties, and I have always managed to get seated immediately (after dinner).
The durian Pamelo sago is my favorite dessert here and I keep returning for more - a must try for durian lovers. It is mostly durian puree, topped with a scoop of durian flesh, some pamelo and sago. The portion is abit small and before you know it, it\'s finished. If you\'d like an extended taste of durian, try the durian snow ice. It is lighter in taste but it\'s good too.
4 of us, we ordered the 4 to share the different with durian & mango and I love them. Yum.
Spending: Approximately SGD 5(Tea)
This is a memorable dining moment for me because you brought me there and ordered this before i had any chance to look what to order for! haha! (:
This is what we ordered and are satisfied with it!:
Black glutinous with Icecream !Over at this shop, there are other varieties like Red Bean soup, Black sesame, Green Bean, Durian Flavours and much more! And there is often alot of people during the night so you got to go there and find seats first.. Anyway there are a few competitors shop beside each other, you can choose and see which one has seats! haha (:
Spending: Approximately SGD 5
Their snow ice is ambrosial, every mouthful is full of flavour and I like the way the ice is fold.I had the banana flavour which is extremely nice to the bits! The yellow little circle taste sour and it just make it balance not too overly sweet and there\'s even fresh cut banana.Mocha flavour is great too! It is pair with small version of glutinous balls. They are very thoughtful in pairing - different flavours, different pairings.
I dine at Ji De Chi frequently and their "sweet in heart snowy ice" desserts are my favourite. They are like a different version of ice kachang and there are many flavors. One of the latest flavors I\'ve tried is the black sesame which consists of nata-de-coco and sesame sauce.
the photo of dessert shown above is the mango pomelo plus specialty cincau. I treat my friend to eat this dessert because she is looking for mango pomelo. she wanted to find out which dessert shop serve the best mango pomelo. however this is not that nice. the cincau does not look appealing at all. but overall it is still quite nice
After dinner, we decided to grab some dessert. So we went Ji De Chi. We waited a while before getting our seats. Cheapest dessert range from $2 to the more expensive ones at $4. We had Orginal Herbal Jelly and Mango grape fruit ice as I\'m a Mango lover. The mango was fresh and matched well with the grape fruit. It is not overly sweet and still can tasted the mango. Heavenly~ The herbal jelly is quite good. The jelly was smooth.
Parking was difficult on Liang Seah street if you are driving, so either wait a while to find parking lots, or just take public transport to bugis and walk over.

The place was pretty cramped, but service was quite fast. You have to jot down your orders on a piece of paper & proceed to the cashier for payment.
We queued for about 10 mins to get a seat.Mango is cut into a good bite size and it\'s pretty fresh.Best of all, the entire dessert is not too sweet and very pleasing to the mouth.Worth going back for more.
Spending: Approximately SGD 3.50(Night Snack)
All these years whenever i want my hot beancurd barley with ginko nuts dessert, i would go to my regular shop across the road maybe because i always been walking that side of the street and had no issues with waiting time whether i have my dessert eat in or take away.
Somehow i went into Ji De Chi last month because while walking i saw the advertisments for some promotion foods along that side of the street.
I was surprised their beancurd barley with ginko nuts taste as good and the price is only $2 compared to the $2.70 across the road and not satisfied with my one bowl eat in, i ordered a take away and it\'s also only $2 with no additional charge for take aways.Spending: Approximately SGD 2(Tea)
My girlfriend and I just love desserts! We headed to ji de chi for dessert after a filling dinner. As the weather was quite hot and humid, we ordered a shaved ice to share. we picked the mocha snow ice. It was very smooth and the mocha taste was quite strong. It had yummy toppings as well such as mini rice ball, nata de coco, chocolate chips. It was really delicious!
Its has been awhile when i last stepped in to this dessert shop.. again i brought my mum.. as she likes the dessert in this shop.. i forgot to take photos again haha...
so ended up, i took this packed durian..
this is the first time i ever had in this shop when i first stepped in 2yrs or 3yrs ago.. i made the right choice.. it taste authentic, not too sweet. it has bits of "you" refreshing.. but best to eat that last.. one e.g. i had ice milk tea after eating that but i couldnt taste the milk tea lol..
if you love durian.. this is a MUST TRY =)
Ji de chi has a wide range of local desserts..
My favourite one is their SNOW ice. It\'s not the normal ice you see in hawker centre and food court. It looks like layers of snow.. The overall presentation is rather good for the eye.
I ordered the black sesame with redbean. I ordered this because of the red bean, but too bad, it is not actually red bean. It turns out to be kidney bean=( It is alright, but i dont fancy kidney beans, they are too big to taste good. There is coconut jelly too and the other one which i dont know the name. It is round and transparent and it burst in your mouth, like the japanese fish egg. I dont like it, but my friends love it.
Overall taste is good, the black sesame taste is rich and service is alright.Spending: Approximately SGD 6
I always liked having something sweet after my main meals. Being a fan of chinese desserts, I often patronise Ji De Chi for its hot pastes and shaved ice. We ordered the green tea shaved ice with red bean, nata de coco and small mochi balls and the mango shaved ice with mango, nata de coco and small round jelly. In case you are wondering, the fillings (nata de coco etc etc) come together with the shaved ice.
I especially liked the green tea shaved ice because it had a hint of green tea flavour and its not too sweet. Plus the mochi balls are nice to munch on since it is chewy. The mango shaved ice is also nice without the mango flavouring tasting too artifical. It is sweeter than the green tea shaved ice, which is why I am more inclined towards the green ice shaved ice. Price is $5 each, some flavours have increased prices though.
Service for shaved ice tends to be longer than if you ordered pastes.Spending: Approximately SGD 5
There are all kinds of Hong Kong style dessert stalls around Singapore and just in Chinatown area, there are about 4 or more stalls. Like in People's Park Center, located a corner of the second floor, you will find "Dessert Hut - 甜å“å°å±‹" and "Tong Shui - ç³–æ°´". Today we are going to take a look at this stall known as "Ji De Chi - è®°å¾—åƒ".
Upon looking at the menu, we actually wanted to try their Durian Bake Puff Roll, but we were informed that it is out of stock. So we settle for this "Mango in Sticky Rice Roll - 芒果糯米å·". We will quite disappointed with the item that is being served, from the photo you can see that the rice roll is so thick and it's kind of hard which is not as good as it look. I am not sure whether does it taste the same in all the 3 outlets or maybe in certain days, it might just taste soft and nice.....Em...maybe have to take a risk to order another time in a different outlet.
Whenever I visit any of these Dessert stalls, there are always two items that I will order, it is either Almond Paste of Mango Pomelo. And I have read from magazine review that there is something special about their "Almond Paste With black Glutinous Rice Ball - æä»ç³ŠåŠ 黑糯米çƒ". Apart from the normal Almond Paste, they actually add a scoop of the Black Glutinous Rice in it to enhance the taste and fragrance.
