Kki cafe is a nice place to enjoy a slice cake while reading your fav book, or just relax :) the place is really cozy!
When it comes to cakes, there's a rich variety to choose from. Go for the Mont Blonc- with its french chestnut paste & Fresh Cream filling.
When i stepped in the place, i felt in love with the place. The environment of the shop gives people a very peace feeling and its calm me down. Maybe because, at that moment, there was nobody in the shop, so there environment was very quiet. Thus, it makes me feel very comfortable.
Ordered two cakes from the counter. I had ordered a chocolate cake. The chocolate cake had a very rich chocolate flavor. The texture of the cakes was moist and smooth.
Will visit the shop again..
Aroma of the cakes is too nice, you just feel like taking a bite!
Enjoy some nice and pretty Japanese Desserts while reading your favorite book.
The dreamy Tiramisu ($9+) featured feather-light mascarpone mousse ensconding a well-soaked ladyfinger. This boozy creation certainly got me raring for more!K Ki is a tiny little cake shop in Club Street that specialises in making Japanese style cakes. These cakes are usually small, delicate and complex, the Japanese style of making them.
a few of us went to kki to have some desserts. we love their creme brulee .. really nice and sweet. the other dessert was Basil milk chocolate with Bitter Orange.. nice shape and texture.. smell nice too. they do sell other variety of nice cakes as well. really love to try each of them xD
I fell in love with K Ki the moment I stepped in. It’s cosy, neat and simple. Somehow, I find that the wooden furniture gives the place a very nice, rustic feel and it makes one feel at ease immediately. Absolutely nothing pretentious here.
I will definitely go back and try the Strawberry Tart, Mont Blanc, Mona, and everything else that I can get my hands on
Japanese cakes... looks too nice to eat them haha..
well we had tiramisu flavour.. light.. sweet and yummy .. soft texture~! followed by mango cake.. decorated with tiny mango bits on top.. looks light yellow compared to the usual yellowish or creamy type you see in stores..
their cakes are quite small but its worth it =) i shall try others again soon~!
K.ki will always have a special place in my heart because the hubby wanted to propose to me by hiding the ring in a Little Red Riding Hood cake from K.ki. Unfortunately the plan didnt go according to plan because K.ki only opens at 12 and their cakes are only baked on the day itself and ready about 11am at the very earliest. So if you are planning to propose with a cake from K.ki, make sure you work out your timings right!
Nonetheless, despite his plans failing, I had to check out for myself what this cake place is all about! Since I worked near Ang Siang Hill, I dropped by the shop one day after lunch for a piece of cake. I wasn\'t able to eat there so had to take the cake away. Just looking at the way they pack the cake, the attention to detail, the little dry ice pack for my tiny cake, you know these people love their cake.
I spoke with the lady boss (aka the baker\'s wife), Delphine, and it\'s really easy to see that the k.ki folks really care about their cakes. There can only be that many cakes made each day and they care more about the quality of their masterpiece than making a few extra buck. There is only one word to describe the taste of their cakes. EXCITING. At least the little red riding hood which is a raspberry centred chocolate mousse cake covered by a dark chocolate exterior. It\'s tangy and bitter and sweet and light at the same time. It is a complex cake that makes you anticipate what you\'re in for next.
Mind you they are closed on Mondays so don\'t make a wasted trip like I did!
Spending: Approximately SGD 8(Tea)
I was on a lookout for a great birthday cake and came across kki on openrice due to many recommendations!
The website is not working, hence the prices and choices of cakes can only be found on its facebook. Apparently, i felt in love with Dumo and I wanted to order CAFÉ DUMO - Chocolate Coffee mousse with Praline centre (14cm Serves up to 7 $48) but they need at least 3 days in advance to bake it. I needed it in 2 days. Hence, there goes my dumo cake.
I came to the shop about 6pm and they only had a few cakes left. So i bought a Mont Blanc instead. The outer layer tasted kind of unique as its made of coconut. However the sponge cake and crust at the bottom of the cake was fab.
Hope i'm able to get Dumo next time! Or Maya also can! Both looks so yummy! !

I was ecstatic to learn that K ki- my favorite cake shop- has recently launched two new creations, Naturally I headed down to Ann Siang Hill at the earliest opportunity for a dessert fix.
The dreamy Tiramisu ($9+) featured feather-light mascarpone mousse ensconding a well-soaked ladyfinger. This boozy creation certainly got me raring for more!
Just as light and refreshing as its look-alike Kinabaru, Emily ($9) featured smooth champagne mousse sandwiching a delightfully intense wild strawberry gelee. Being a fan of passionfruit, I still prefer the Kinabaru to Emily, but give me either and I'll be one happy girl!

You'd see other reviewers showing their cakes so this time, where a couple of my friends were not aware of this place, which is quite a hidden gem if you don't understand the area, I'll show where its located instead.
Though the store is really small and their display looks a bit too boring, their cakes and its taste are a miracle.
The ones I've tried and tested for all choco lovers should be Little Red Riding Hood! I'd bring this for my mom, as this is made by 70% dark chocolate. Talk about ultra bitter, and burning the fat (and other healthy impact made by dark chocolate to our body) with the smooth mousse. I'm a mousse lover, so the creamy but mixed light to give a light filling for more air was just perfect. I'm not a fan of any fruits, but since this would be much bitter to most people, the raspberry layer inside provided the balance of sweetness, like wine and steak. Ooooh lala, you must take your red coat down to ann siang hill and order this!
Prices although are really unfriendly (to well, my student pocket) I guess it does pay offbecuse f othe quality of the ingredients. Where else that serves 70% - not 50%! - of dark chocolate goodness?

One thing I remember most is the superbly polite service, from the warm greetings I received upon entering the shop, to being asked if I'd like a drink (I asked for water, and was asked if I'd like it warm or cold! Wow.), to brimming with appreciation upon hearing that I had enjoyed my order.
Petite little cakes, each and every a delicate, perfectly assembled beauty, sitting in straight rows in the display. I had a lot of trouble deciding which to have, but I eventually settled on the Mont Blanc ($8.50).
Swirled with silky and pure chestnut puree on top of pillowy fresh cream, resting atop a sponge layer and a crumbly tart base; this Month Blanc was a very refined creation. There were bits of treasure hiding in the cream- delightful chestnut chunks!
Crumbly and buttery, K Ki's sables ($14 for a pack of 12) were really good. The coconut ones impressed with their crisp bite, but it's the lovely earthy flavor of the chocolate hazelnut ones that I'm really enamored with. Sublime!ee on top of pillowy fresh cream, resting atop a sponge layer and a crumbly tart base; this Month Blanc was a very refined creation. People these days are much more sophisticated than to be satisfied with just another cake. The thing about French-inspired Japanese bakeries being so successful these days is that they manage to capture a wide food audience. Who can resist the rich and intricate flavours of French desserts coupled with the light and delicate Japanese touch. K-ki cakes are basically art for us to admire but one surely regret if they just look and not eat the cakes
K-ki's Antoinette ($8) is like a white chocolate and mango molten lava cake. My friend from UK likes the taste of mango so this ain't exotic to him at all. Me? I always love An. Move over chocolate molten lava cake.
The only complaint I have about K-ki is my fave Mont Blanc is forever so difficult to buy. We were told it's an hour wait to Mont Blanc so we ordered the Cafe Dumo ($8) instead. My friend was impressed by the layers of differing texture and taste in this coffee-based cake. To him, the cake scene in Singapore is much more exciting than back home. All thanks to K-Ki.

Loving chestnut anything and everything, Mont Blanc ($8.50+) is my favourite! No doubt, no hesitation at all. Every element was perfect: smooth chestnut puree, light whipped cream, super soft sponge and an almond tart base. Not forgetting tiny bits of sweet chopped chestnuts embedded within the cream like hidden gems. Love l.o.v.e LOVE this!
Since there’s Mont Blanc the French mountain, Kenneth decided to have a SEA mountain on his collection too. A deliberate misspelling, Kinabaru ($8+) has layers of coconut mousse, passionfruit creme and a chocolate sponge base. The heavenly sweet-tanginess of passionfruit hits you first, followed by a subtle coconut aftertaste. Very interesting!

Antoinette ($8): Light, smooth white chocolate mousse sitting on a thin layer of sponge, enveloping a heart of mango puree for a mildly refreshing twist.
I've always associated white chocolate with "overly sweet" and "rich". But this cake has given me new perspective; the cloudlike white chocolate mousse here is sweetened to just the right degree.
LRRH ($8.50): My, what a flawless complexion you have! As with all of K Ki's cakes, this LRRH has been perfectly assembled. Look at how even the sheen of chocolate is! Stunning, isn't she?
And of course, nothing but Valrhona dark chocolate would do. There's some raspberry puree hidden within the smooth mousse which lightens the richness of all that chocolate. Good for people like me who don't quite fancy chocolate mousses for that reason!
Kinabaru ($8): I love passionfruit. No wonder I'm especially enamored with this layered creation of etherally light coconut mousse and sunshine-yellow passionfruit creme. While the well-balanced flavors were mild on the tastebuds, this creation deeply impressed.
Kinabaru, you're clearly my favorite thus far... I'll be having you again! I think Mom will take a fancy to you too. Maybe I'll get her a large version of you on her birthday!
See how precisely the Kinabaru has been sliced? And how the different layers are perfectly parallel to each other? (:
K Ki comes up with simply refined creations. One thing that I like about the cakes is how they're sweetened to just the right degree, another is how beautifully presented they always are. One's gotta love the warm and friendly service too!

K Ki is a tiny little cake shop in Club Street that specialises in making Japanese style cakes. These cakes are usually small, delicate and complex, the Japanese style of making them.
The shop is partnered together with another shop in the same space, the Little Drom Store which sells vintage bric-a-bracs. Together, the space you find yourself in is peaceful and great for an afternoon off to relax in. Seating is quite limited, about 4 indoor tables seating 2 each and 1 outdoor table that seats 4. The decor is minimalist but elegantly clean.
Cafe Dumo is a chocolate-coffee cake which I was skeptical at first because I don’t like the taste of coffee. But upon tasting it, it was actually quite nice because of how mild the coffee taste was. They managed to make it blend together with the chocolate so that the bitterness was mellowed away.
Little Red Riding Hood has to be my favourite cake from K Ki! This is 70% dark chocolate mousse cake with a raspberry filling in the center that provided a touch of tartness. Fantastically rich and I pretty much finished it off really fast because it was so nice.

Opened early this year, K ki is the much talked about café tucked in a quiet corner of Ann Siang Hill. The shop is the <strike>business venture</strike> fruit of love of two lovely couples - Kenneth and Delphine of ケーã‚, and Stanley and Antoinette of the little dröm store.
Stepping into this Japanese-styled café, it's not hard to notice a Muji-like ambiance. Simplistic is the key word here, as everything is kept bare -no opulent decoration nor fanciful artwork, yet every corner emits an unspeakable charm.
Instead of laying out a wide selection of cakes at the counter, only small quantities are displayed and stock gets replenished every hour to ensure freshness.
We ordered Lychee Ginger($8) and Antoinette($8) that afternoon. Personally I don't like ginger, but smooth ginger mousse and a mild hint of lychee was a good combination.
So loved by one of the drömkeepers, Delphine and Kenneth decided to name this lovely creation after her. Featuring feathery white chocolate mousse neatly moulded into the shape of a teardrop, Antoinette reveals a drop of mango purée at the centre like a sweet little gem.
One bite is all it takes to fall in love with this beauty.
The kitchen pulled out a fresh batch of Mont Blanc($8.50) while we were having our cakes. Lucky!
Chestnut purée embedded with sweet chestnut bits, sitting on a spongy almond meringue base, Mont Blanc is a mount beautifully wrapped around by chestnut strands snowed with magic powder.
When visiting K ki, it's a crime not to take some time to browse the many knick-knacks at the little dröm store which sells nostalgic items like pencil sharpens and twin lens reflex cameras, one of which would definitely evoke fond memories of your innocent days.
This was my 5th visit to K ki. All the previous visits had me turned away by a full house as there were 4 tables which only can seat eight people indoor. A casual conversation with Delphine revealed that their intention to have the minimal seating is to provide customers with the much needed space to relax in a fast-paced city like Singapore. With such thoughtfulness along with awesome cakes and outstanding service, there is little to wonder why many keep coming back.

And here I am. Finally on my way to the much raved about K Ki. I have seen countless photos of K Ki’s enticing cakes and they are always calling out to me. Ok I admit I’m slow but it’s better late than never right? Anyway I shall not attempt to go into the details about how K Ki came about but I believe it’s (almost) every girl’s dream come true. How fortunate to be able to work alongside your husband, doing something that you really enjoy!
I fell in love with K Ki the moment I stepped in. It’s cosy, neat and simple. Somehow, I find that the wooden furniture gives the place a very nice, rustic feel and it makes one feel at ease immediately. Absolutely nothing pretentious here.
Call me silly but I was a little worried when I was told that Kinabaru ($8) is basically layers of coconut mousse, passion fruit creme and a spongy chocolate base. I don’t detest coconut but I’m not entirely a huge fan of it either. Passion fruit? The only thing that comes close is the body scrub that I have. Sorry but I don’t really fancy tart flavours. It got me thinking that the only consolation would probably be the chocolate base! I took my first bite with caution and.. hey it’s not as bad as I thought it would be! The coconut mousse is light and smooth, plus the passion fruit had a nice refreshing twist! Maybe I’m a little ‘conservative’ but after having the Kinabaru, I reckon it’s nice to excite your taste buds once in awhile
The Antoinette ($8) is a beautiful piece of art and it got me fooled. I didn’t expect that the white fluffy coating to be white chocolate! I love chocolate in all shapes, colors and sizes. Sweetness was just right and it certainly wasn’t cloying. There is a very sexy centre hidden within the Antoinette and it’s wet, I mean molten mango puree. A very interesting pairing of white chocolate and mango. Yummeh.. I love it!
I can’t help but giggle upon realizing why this particular creation is named Little Red Riding Hood ($8.50). The shiny chocolate ganache is so gorgeous and I could almost see my own reflection staring down at it. The dark chocolate was bitter sweet and very rich. The raspberry filling within the chocolate mousse had a slight frozen, icy texture which made me shiver with delight.
I say, simplicity is best. You probably wouldn’t give Cafe Dumo ($8) a proper look in the beginning, especially when the other exquisite creations are fighting for your attention, all at the same time. When you finally decide to give it a second look, you realize that the Cafe Dumo can’t be all that simple and it lures you to it, to unravel its mystery and discover what truly lies within. Shall I tell you what I found? Go figure it out for yourself! Coffee lovers will find joy in savoring this. I still have a hard time deciding which is my favorite All I can say is that, it is a tie between Antoinette and Cafe Dumo!
I will definitely go back and try the Strawberry Tart, Mont Blanc, Mona, and everything else that I can get my hands on
