About Us
The Greenwood dining enclave welcomes a much awaited addition to its array of cuisines. Levant, which means 'the sun rises in the east', is a charming and intimate restaurant offering renowned culinary wonders from the middle east.
Set in an eclectic mix of modern and traditional design, Levant exudes a warm and inviting ambience complete with gentle touches of select imported middle eastern furnishings. The interior, which seats 56, is perfect for an intimate dining experience or even a cosy gathering while a 16 seater al fresco area provides for a relaxing meal in the serene surroundings Greenwood is known for. Levant is the brainchild of Suresh Menon, a food & beverage industry veteran with 25 years of experience, and Hany Moustafa who heads the culinary team with 14 years behind him. Suresh's time in the industry was spent in top tier hospitality establishments from 5-star hotels to heading a large team in managing a chain of Persian eateries. Chef Hany spent his years all across Asia, most notably with the Hatam Group of Restaurants in Dubai and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and skill in middle eastern cuisine. They met while Suresh was providing consultancy services and after a chat, both decided that it was time to venture into their own business and thus this partnership. While Levant's menu features only signature Middle Eastern dishes, the kitchen does cater to guest's requests whenever they arise and also when possible. This willingness to go the extra mile in an intrinsic character both partners share. Chef Hany recommends a few of his personal favourites. Amongst them are the Mixed Appetiser Platter (Hummus, Moutabal, Taboula and Green Salad), Kebab Koobideh (a traditional kebab made of minced lamb), Chicken Koobideh (with minced chicken instead), Reyash (grilled lamb chops marinated with lemon juice, onions, saffron and traditional spices), Shish Tawooq Joojeh (grilled chicken marinated with saffron and traditional spices) and Chicken Yogurt Kebab (grilled chicken breast marinated with yogurt and special seasoning). Stew dishes also take center stage at Levant and most notably Chef's Lamb Shank Biryani with whole lamb shank stewed to perfection served with the highest quality biryani rice cooked in authentic Middle Eastern fashion and Ghormeh Sabzi which is a slow-cooked stew of mixed vegetables and herbs.
