Politely received imposter just catching on to the role    slightly perceived distinctions between the content and the mold    Bystanders taught we inherit innocence    self-proclaimed rebels wielding a school-taught cause    if we're really gonna pick up our weapons    we're gonna have to disarm of our fathers indoctrinate laws    and such a wealth of feeling fills me up and at its feet I'd always be kneeling if not for such a pitiful vessel    I've got such shitty tools    that I don't even know how to use    but I'm devoted to some phantom structure that some phantom family never taught me to build    but whose imagined glory I can only imagine will play out in our story    and my fathoming is as tangible as you    we need each other so much more than we dare to let each other know    but if we're really gonna pick up our weapons    we're gonna have to disarm of the barricades around our souls    and tell the cops in our hearts to let the private pride property go       this politely received imposter    would like to think one could subvert that role    and somehow become the distinction between the content and the mold
