every new year goes by faster then the last   and it gets so hard to know just what you have   in your friends and in your family   in those you take for granted along the way   and you were always there for me   through every tribulation   you're there for me   I couldn't walk a mile in your shoes   but I still want to be just like you   from all the struggles you've been through   you stood strong   and you taught me to   hold my head high   let nothing hold me back   reach for the sky   give it everything   I have inside   when I was young my greatest fear was losing you   before you showed me that it's all in his hands   thats how much you meant to me then   and that still stands   I hope I make you proud   if I never take the chance to say   thank you for everyday   your life revolved around me   I'm saying it now   you make your son proud
