when i was just a little kid, in elementary school,  i didn't want to do anything that would make not be cool,  all the girls had cooties, get near them and u die,  now i wish i had taken a chance, and now i wonder why  every year at valentines i pick my cards so carefully,  throwing away the mushy ones, amking sure my mom didn't see,  you might be my valentine, those who got to go,  now i wish i taken them, but i guess i didn;t know    someday i'd like girls a lot  and i;d want to give them all i got,  flowers and candy on valentines day,  and someday i would wanna say    CHORUS  be mine, be my valentine, please love me for a day,  i'll be yours and you'll be mine,  I'll hold you close and say, be mine, be my valentine,  i'll tell you i love you,  i'll write u a poem that doesn't rhyme,  but it still was meant for you    now that i'm high school, i look back on the past,  think of the things i missed as a kid,  the train went by too fast on this valentine's day coming up  there's one thing that i;m going to do,  call you up on the telephone and say these words to you    CHORUS    be mine, be my valentine, please love me for a day,  i'll be yours and you'll be mine, i'll hold u close and say,  be mine, be my valentine, i'll tell u i love you,  i'll write u a poem that doesn't rhyme,  but it still was meant for me and you
