At night as I roll down the hills   I see the city up in the sky   And the stars fall down   Leave a blackened cloud   Everybody thinks he's doing fine      Million miles to the other side   Everybody tries to do what he can   As I lay down the phone I hear about   Losing someone in the end      Driving down the Hollywood lanes   I see the people looking down to the ground   And they're gathering money   It all seems so funny   Is that all they can think about?      And I will run to the ocean   I will run along the coastline   We'll be gone, no more worries   On the never ending shore      The freeway's traffic's jammed   Think about getting out and run   Cause what's the use of getting short-fused   In a car which has been baking in the sun      The daytime's over   And we're waiting all alone for the night   Cause tomorrow knows that it's time to go   We will leave all the troubles behind
