I met Adonis just recently  On a starry night, we walked by the sea  Right out of a book of Greek gods and myths  In the guise of a man here against his will  I said now (she said)  Heavenly creature, can you feel  Pain and emotions, are you for real  A goddess or angel I might not seem  But I can love you more than any human will (Yeah, right)  He took me then in his arms  And I melted like ice in the sun  Palm trees were swaying and the wind sang a crazy love song  Then he pulled away from me, I was speechless as a fool could be  And I realised that I was only human indeed  (She couldn't help it!)  Don't imagine me a silly Earth fool  I'm tongue-tied and nervous, I appear unschooled  Cos my hormones are churning, they're drowning out my head  Many a thing would have been better unsaid  He took me then in his arms  And I melted like ice in the sun  Palm trees were swaying and the wind sang a crazy love song  He's afraid of loving me, and he thinks I'm not quite his size  Maybe some cruel goddess left him alone in the night (in the night)  In the night (that's right)  My Adonis has flown away  He didn't even give me the night of a day  The sun is gone and I see no more stars  All I see is the planet Mars  He took me then in his arms  And I melted like ice in the sun  Palm trees were swaying and the wind sang a crazy love song  He's afraid of loving me, and he thinks I'm not quite his size  Maybe some cruel goddess left him alone in the night (in the night)  In the night now  I hear it raining outside my door  I wonder if he'll be back once more  Right out of a book of Greek gods and myths  In the guise of a man here against his will  [Composed by Angeli; ©1991 Shenai Song Productions (ASCAP)]
