When I grew up and went to school, they stuffed my face with apple pie/ "Stand up and show some respect for your country and for those who've died"/ But that was the last time I sucked on that poison/ I can't pledge allegiance to the stars and stripes again/ We're one United State divided up by class and race/ One nation under god...by whose god should I be awed?/ In Washington, they'll start a war just to cover up their own ass/ And we're the world's policemen, so, hell, why not bring back the draft?/ But it's just one big show of police brutality/ Conquest and world dominance: our foreign policy/ I'm free to take all I can get and I'm free to starve out in the streets/ I'm free to live the American dream and I'm free to be a bigoted freak/ But I'm NOT free to think, they took that right from me/ I gotta pay to get my way 'cause freedom isn't free/ We're one United State divided up by class and race/ One nation under god...by whose god should I be awed?/ My country, I ask thee...where is my liberty to act on what I've learned?/ Now you'll see the flags I've burned!
