I always felt I had a way of blocking out the day to day.   There's always much to comprehend.   Distractions are a wondrous friend.      We were side by side the day we left the world behind.   It felt as if we froze in time, the day we left the world behind.   To travel away, with feelings exposed.   We'll have such a fine time, together, yet alone.      We spoke of hopes and dreams, while desperately avoiding sleep.   The sentiments were all one way, I almost didn't hear you say.   "I've never seen the stars so bright. They're judging us, it seems, tonight."   I'd never seen the stars so bright.   And soon the night approached the day, and I slipped alone outside.   To let my conscience have its way, with no excuse to hide behind.   The stars reflected on the lake. I pissed upon the sky.   I never felt so alive, the day we left the world behind.   I never felt so alive, the day we left the world behind.   And I have neither need nor care of ever going back to where   I had neither need nor care.
