Last night I awoke in the midst of a dream   And you were beside me again   With love in your eyes you looked at me   Like I don't remember      I try not to think about you at all   Running around out there without me   And I know you're happy now   Now that you're free   But I prefer not to think about that at all      And I used to know you   I was your friend   I'm sure I could take you for granted again      Once in a while I wonder   If I'll ever find someone to take your place   From time to time I do miss your face   But mostly I don't think about you at all      And last night I awoke in the midst of a dream
