oh I know why you want to stay home   so I'm driving all alone      oh did you see the paper today?   yeah I saw it but what did it say?      all the words are hurting my head   and the ink on my hands has bled      and my eyelids are fighting my brain   and my muscles are doing the same   I guess my body is killing itself   I'm sick of worrying about my health      and I don't want to go to school   'cause I know what they'll tell me there   and the air coming in's too cool   yeah I'm freezing and I need heat   and I can't even trust myself   got some real bad habits   and I'm concerned with this and that   but does it really matter?      I went downtown to 6th and Virginia and just looked around   I slipped on my shoes and drove my sedan to the edge of the river   I stood in line, I shook every hand, I waited my turn, and now I'm fine      and now a car full of broken rubber bands is all I have   to show for a month and a half of overpriced gas
