bitter chill is in the air   silent and still it happens this   time every year   the clouds descend upon you   the sky is cold and grey   heaven seems so wicked   the shadow smothers everything      I feel as if the sun is lost forever   (you’re not here)   it can never be the same   (you’re not here)   sinking in like this unforgiving weather   (you’re not here)   it’s as right as the rain      it fills you up it gets inside   consuming you the spirit dies   everyone and everything affected by   the touch the spirit dies   hope goes with it   killing a little bit in each of us      the rain will fall cleansing us all   the affect on me is in vain   the purifying rain   won’t wash away the stains
