I seem to forget the worth of the sun   I wish I could run fast enough to escape the blanket of night   if I could reach up to the seemingly boundless stretch of an absence of life   I would embrace the emptiness and fold night itself into a square   I could give it to you   maybe you see more good than I do   I wont do it   I don’t want to breech the line between the sky’s limit and heaven’s descent   and now I can’t run as fast as you choose to walk away   you’ve put this heart on a thousand trials   only to be imprisoned again and again   watching the stars without you   my lungs cry out   just kiss me so the night can rest   let the night come so I can dream a dream for every golden-laced footprint you’ve left in my mind   because I won’t wipe these tears away
