this is my present to you   my life   for I have nothing left to do with it   you seem to "run it" these days   so take it   I'll wrap it in all kinds of cloths   but you have to take it from my hands   and keep it in a box   lock the box up   and throw the key away   for I no longer need this life of mine   everything I loved slipped threw these hands of mine   or walked away on their own two feet   each day I get neglected   I stand right here and no one seems to see me   sometimes they see me   but they don't understand   it's better for me to be alone   it's better for me if they lock up my life   the one that asked if they could lean on me   has left   and when I go to lean on their shoulder   I fall to the ground   and I think "at least the ground caught my fall"   my life is in my hands please take it away from me   I have no more use for it   and do what I ask   lock it away and throw away the key
