you've got every inch of your bones   & it's this it's not bicycles   & it's this it's not the seats on the bus   or shoes or chairs that hold you up      the house where we live is empty space   & every room's assigned a face   & every face is full of mind   that uses skin to hide behind   if your car needed a jump   the cables are there in the trunk   & if i could have you that way   i'd hook up our brains & it'd be great      because in there i'd find your thoughts   what you like, what you're tired of   i wouldn't wonder it would be plain   & i'm guessing i would feel less afraid      if your car needed a jump
