I was listening to something that you gave me      on the freeway just above the posted speed      I was leaving town for good because I loved you      and the risks of love were just to much for me      a song came on that I have never heard before      it almost made me turn back towards your place      but then I thought of all the ways you moved me      it'd happed if your feelings ever changed      I turned the music up until it hurt my ears      and pushed the tears right back into my eyes      I tried not to look up into the rear-view mirror      at the life with you I had to leave behind
