About Us
Mouth Restaurant was first established in the 1980s in Chinatown Point to serve the increasing number of Hong Kong immigrants leaving the territory for Singapore as a result of the impending 1997 handover from Britain to China. The Chinese name of Mouth Restaurant, Di Mao Guan, was derived from the Cantonese phrase Tae Mow Tong - a reference to the street food stalls in early Hong Kong popular with labourers who were used to squatting while having their meals. In Cantonese, Tae means "ground", Mow means "squat" and Tong refers to "stall". Mow also sounds like the English word "mouth" and hence, Mouth Restaurant was born.

Mouth Restaurant (å?°è??é¦?) has evolved over the years to become an all inclusive Chinese restaurant offering exquisite Hong Kong cuisines, infusiing traditional culinary with a touch of modernity at an affordable price. Therefore, customers had to queue up to 2 hours just to savour their dimsum. I am impressed with the food, relinquished my misconception of the food served at Mouth Restaurant.
