Was first introduced to paul when i lived in paris so i was thrilled to see a branch here in singapore. Wonderful breads and sandwiches! And surprisingly not too pricey!
Nice place to relax and spend time with friends
Nice quiche from this bakery and it costc abt 7 bucks:)
Long queuing while waiting to buy this appetizing strawberry tart and its taste not disappointing!
Heard so much about paul bakery and finally i had the chance to visit this bakery! There was a long queue to dine in at their restaurant when i was there around 5pm so i didn\'t want to queue and just bought from their bakery. I was not able to catch the exact full name of the crossaint that i ordered as i did not want to hold up the queue as the words are also quite small actually. I took the chocolate crossaint which costs $2.80 and the apricot one which costs $3.95. Both were great!!! The chocolate crossaint was quite expensive but the chocolate filing inside was quite nice and the crust was also so soft. The apricot was awesome too as the crust was really crispy. Although it is quite expensive to me but i can just give myself a treat when i feel like it.
There has been so much rave about Paul Bakery few months back, and the queues were ridiculously long on weekends. Which kind of puts me off especially when you just want to rest your tired legs and cool down from the sweltering heat. So with the recent die down in the crazy crowds outside Paul, I decided to give it a shot. I ordered the Mix Fruit Tart (S$7) which was so-so at best. In fact, I prefer the ones at Delifrance. The pastry of the tart was overly crumbly and tasted quite rough and tasteless. I love french crepes and being a famous French Bakery, I thought I should try the crepes here at Paul. Sadly, the crepes fell short of expectation. It was soggy, and I wasn\'t even sure if they were freshly made as it wasn\'t hot or even warm. The chocolate sauce tasted like what i could get out of a hershey bottle. Nothing fantastic to make me wanna go back for more. On top of that, the overly priced crepe made me feel that it\'s really not worth my while. I probably won\'t be back so soon. Especially not when I have to pay so much for something not so satisfying.
I went for high tea with my girlfriends to paul bakery at ngee ann city. The place is renovated until very classy looking. I ordered their signature Millefeuille nature and macaroons and crème brulee. The millefeuille was really unqiue. The pastry puff was so crispy, I simply adore the vanilla flavoured pastry cream. The macaroons were nice too, the shells were crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. It was indeed a sinful indulgence for this sugar pack high tea but I say it is just worth it.
- The Shop The bakery is separated from the dine-in restaurant and sell artisanal loaves which it\'s famous for their Flute Paul (French baguette made from dough that is fermented slowly), chocolate bread and croissant. They also have other savoury pastries, sandwiches and cakes. The 120 seater restaurant is all stylish French inspired decor with chandeliers and plush sofa chairs. They serve an all day dining menu, serving simple French café food such as sandwiches, soups, salad, quiches, and crepes. If you are lucky, you may get a table by the big windows overlooking Orchard Road. - The Food Special Iced Tea of The Moment - Raspberry @ $5.80Nothing extraordinary. Salmon Sauce Vierge @ $23.90 Pan fried salmon fillet with olive sauce served with rice and Provencal vegetables (tomatoes, red and green peppers, onions cooked with spices and herbs).Connie felt the salmon is not flavorsome and overcooked. Even after adding a few dashes of salt it still didn\'t bring out the flavor. The sauteed vegetables was ok. Paillasson Champignon @ $19.90 Sauteed mushrooms with gralic, shallots and parsley.Their traditional potato pancake is baked to perfection and has a nice crisp. The garniture is delicious and savory. This is the best and perfect dish, lucky Shareen. Crepe Champignons $16.90Sauteed mushrooms with gralic, shallots and parsley. The delicate thin pancakes in a French version can be softer and tastier. The sauteed mushroom is bland, stingy on the salad dressing for the salad and Provencal tomatoes. I am a mushroom lover and i am disappointed. Tartine Poulet Marine $17.90Chicken marinated in lemon and tarragon, fresh tomatoes and cream. (served warm) A delicious slice of freshly baked country bread but it\'s too hard that Shela had to use her hand to eat as the knife just couldn\'t cut it. The marinated chicken taste good but PAUL, Dubai is better. It\'s also served with a seasonal side salad. - My Opinion This French bakery-restaurant may have a big sitting capacity but its too cramp. Tables were so closed that only ONE person can bypass at a time. The crews seem to be a little confuse and everyone is rushing here and there. Be prepared to queue if you are dining in during lunch/dinner without a reservation. We waited for almost 10-15min before we were given a seat even we are first in queue. All the staff were too busy serving and taking order that no one has the time to bring us in.
I headed to Paul’s with a couple of my friends. As we went on a weekday, there was not much of a crowd. We ordered two Millefeuille to share. We ordered the vanilla flavor ones. This dessert is really good, the pastry is so crisp and flakes off really easily. I really dore the delicious vanilla pastry cream, I think this is what made the pastry taste so good. the custard is not too sweet but went really well with the pastry. The pastries here is really exquisite, indeed worth a visit.
Attracted by the beeline queue, we decided to give it a try! After a day of shopping, this is a great place to sit down, relax and have sweet bites! I ordered a cup of hot milk. I thought it was suppose to be bland or something but it is overly sweet. I requested the waitress to add more milk or something. They are pretty efficient to get it changed. I saw this piece of pastry on display and ordered. It is really dry and the custard are kind of hardened. Seriously, this place looked really good and food looked tasty but it is not actually that tasty at all. Totally not worthy!
If you want to have a fine dining venue to enjoy a few pastries and a cup of hot coffee,Paul is one of the ideal venue which you can consider going. One of my favourite pastry here will be their plain croissant.it is very fluffy inside and very crispy on the outside.I like it to be spread with Lots of butterand to eat it plain like this as well. The butter flavour inside the croissant is really fragrant as well.It\'s baked till golden brown which is really nice and the presentation of it looks great, Spending: Approximately SGD 3(Lunch)
Read full story here: www.epinosh.com Speaking of the crowds at PAUL, I was terrified. I have heard of people making a beeline at the café entrance and that the restaurant waiting service has been poor, kitchen almost went into retardation, food quality didn\'t match up and the negative response goes on. That was probably 3 months ago when it first welcome its diners in Singapore. I am not totally surprised by the teething issues they faced, given the outlet is the first in Singapore. For dinner, I ordered Croque Saumon Poireaux. The roast salmon and leeks married well! Embedded between those cheesy toasted bread, they are so moist and delicious! The whole dish was not overly bready. Another came along; Crepe Complete. It is turkey & cheese in a pancake topped with a fried egg. Interestingly, the oozing cheese fills up your oral cavity while its aroma chalked up your nasal concha! To polish off my dinner, I started cherry-picking on the dessert list. I could hear competing recommendations ringing in my ears, each refused to compromise. I knew I couldn\'t possibly eat all of them, I cleverly select Tartelette Citron for a comparison. PAUL\'s lemon cream tartlet taste a bit sweeter than its rival, Masion Kayser. The crust is flaky and buttery good while the lemon filling taste creamy and tangy. If you prefer something more lemony, I suggest you try Maison Kayser\'s as theirs will sweep you off your feet! I must confess that PAUL is a good pick for lunches & tea-time, but you will need more choices for a good dinner. In any case, I have had a satisfying weekend meal at the French bakery. Certainly a great place not to be missed. I will be back for more banlangeries & pastries just as I have tried their plain flute, croissants and sourdough off the rack.Spending: Approximately SGD 60(Dinner)
this is currently the best macaron in singapore! it is nice and big and very french. totally a french macaron. i love the pistachio flavour but all their flavours are relaly good. no need for other expensive macarons! the ones here are so authentic and huge. it took me a long time to finish one. the sweetness was balanced and the shell was perfect. the cream texture was just right as well. not cheap but the service is fast and efficient. be prepared for long queues.
Packed with customers everyday, this French patisserie let you enjoy their desserts without flying to Europe!
I heard so much about this shop. I finally got a chance to try while shopping at Taka. We managed to buy chocolate eclair, lemon meringue tart, croissant as takeaway. The chocolate eclair was not too sweet and has a nice choux pastry. I like the huge lemon meringue tart which has a tangy lemon curd as filling and topped with soft peak of sweet meringue. The combination is just right when you bite them together, as the sourness of the lemon curd is balance with the sweet meringue.Spending: Approximately SGD 7(Tea)
was going to have coffee or lunch there but the queue was so super long and the seating was limited as not everyone gets in even when there are empty seats. they seem selective in who they let in. anyway, so proceeded to the takeaway, which was quite efficient and fast as there was about 5 people working at the counter to speed things up. very polite and friendly service. the canele was terrible. had better canele at other places. love their macarons! the best! huge macarons which are made perfectly. and their breads are really good too. prices are steep but it\'s expected of french pastry in asia...
Sip a cup of this bitter coffee and this makes you scramble for the sweet macaroons! This whole set comes at an affordable price and I think you can share it with a close friend (in this case, i shared with my mother!) for tea-break. The buttery croissant is really really really fragrant, it\'s not so oily, and best of all, the price really surprised me considering that i\'ve eaten the very same croissant in Paris! With the exact same store layout and crew uniform from Paris, one would wonder if she has transported through time. Anyway, thumbs up to Paul, He\'s a great man with the great bread from heaven!
There was no queue and heard good reviews and hence decided to give it a try. The croissant was fresh, crispy and smelled really good. It was tasty and not too oily, good enough to eat it plain. However, i find it quite costly, $2.50 for one. I think i will patronise again only if there is no queue.Spending: Approximately SGD 2.50(Other)
While shopping around kinokuniya,We found that there\'s a new restaurant ,We saw a lot of peoples queueing for it,so we joined in the crowd too They have different kinds of french bread, different kinds of croissant too price range from $2.90 - $6 +++, I bought this pack of bread for $5 ++ .The butter fragrances was very strong ,It was actually quite crispy when we ate on the first day but after keeping for 2 days, the bread started to be less crispy but still soft & nice
I long heard of paul bread ,was happy that they finally opened a store here Wanna go for dinning but it was so long queue so i bought their macaron & bread instead, First time i saw such a huge macaron,I had their chocolates macaron for $6.50 They also selling a box for $19.90 Their macaron was very nice, filling with dark chocolates, not very sweet, & the shell is quite firm, very nice I also bought their bread,is a custard kind bread,10pcs for $5.60 Coated with sugar on top, very tasty,Their bread was a bit expensive but worth it,the only thing i don\'t lke was that macaron crack easy, they should put in a box instead of paperbag Overall i rate 8/10
