We’ll make no bones about how we love our European pastries - give us some cream-filled choux pastry and we’ll happily wolf it down. But there are days when all we want is cake. A slice of warm apple pound cake drizzled with caramel; tall layers of light sponge cake and buttercream; or just three or four mouthfuls of a cupcake smothered in enough frosting leftover for licks when the cake’s all gone.

Cupcakes are $3.50 each or $19 for every six. Usually i get a dozen, 6 is too little. Red Velvet, banana milk chocolate, cookies and cream are my favourites. They make layer cake too with flavors offer in their cupcakes. Layer cake are made of three layers of tender sponge stacked high, with a generous spread of smooth buttercream frosting between each cake.
