About Us
Platitos Bar & Restaurant is a product of five creative and adventurous minds. This coming together of friends from different professional backgrounds definitely gives Platitos Bar & Restaurant an edgy, young and hip ambiance.
Ever since they opened up shop, every time we walk by Platitos, it has been hopping with tons of business spilling out into the outside tables in the evening. We finally spotted an empty table one Saturday night and decided to pop in and investigate (with our taste buds).

The restaurant it quite small and all the tables are bar tops with high bar stools. The music runs to Latin influenced tunes (think bossa nova and narcotango) and lends a true laid back vibe to the intimate space. While the ambiance is relaxed, the service is extremely professional and attentive.

We enjoyed the beer sangria ($8) and classic (red wine) sangria ($9), but we found the house wine ($8 / glass) just ok. To accompany our drinks, we sampled the gambas ($6.90), the spiced nuts ($5.90) and the chicken wings ($6.90). Everything was tasty, but we found the gambas (shrimps in garlic oil) to be particularly generous with 8 perfectly cooked, medium sized shrimps. The chicken wings, which we were informed are the top sellers, were a nice blend of spicy and crispy.

PARTING THOUGHT: We were magnificently restrained on our first visit and we hope to return soon to try more of the tapas selection!
