Ever since I went to plaza brasserie at parkroyal beach road with my colleagues, I have been dying to go again. The buffet there is simply good. the seafood section is really amazing. A lot of fresh seafood awaiting your selection. They actually have a prata counter with many kinds of prata, both sweet and savoury. The durian prata is a killer. The durian is so thick, it goes so well with the prata. Even the normal egg prata taste very good, light, crispy and chewy. goes well with the curry they provides. Not many buffets have a prata counter.

Special thanks to Daniel\'s Food Diary who extended his invitation for me to attend this amazing Crab Fiesta at Plaza Brasserie, PARKROYAL on Beach Road. For starters, we got to choose from a wide spread of appetizers ranging from Dijon Crab Cakes with Coriander Paste, Baked Crab Shell, Chilli Crab Roll with Vegetables, Crab Meat Gyoza with Dip Sauce, Bread Crab Claw, Mini Crab Meat Samosas, Olive & Potato Crabmeat Balls with Pesto, Crabmeat Paste, Baked Whole Salmon with Spicy Dip to a variety of Dim Sums. If you are one who prefers a cold start, there\'s the chilled seafood section with lots of really fresh hairy crabs right round the corner. You must not miss their huge, juicy fresh oysters that\'s perfect with a dash of Tabasco and lemon juice. Plus its rumoured to be quite an aphrodisiac. Enjoy the prawns without accompanying sauces to savour its freshness. It\'s hard to stop once you start peeling! Next came the star dishes for the evening, prepared using the humble Mud Crab: First to be served was the familiar Chilli Crab. The colour was vibrant & looked extremely inviting. The chilli sauce was a little spicy with a tint of sweetness. Although Chilli Crab is one of Singaporean\'s favourites, it took a back seat as we got introduced to the other contenders. Stir-Fried Crabs with Spring Onions and Gingermild flavouring allowed us to fully appreciate the natural sweetness and taste of the mud crab. Stir Fried Sri Lanka Crab with XO Sauce was quite an innovation. The crab meat tasted sweet in general but the XO seasoning was not prominent. It will take more than high cholesterol to keep me away from these delightful Stirred Fried Crab with Egg Yolk. I stand true to the statement \'Anything goes well with salted egg yolks\'.This was my favourite Mud Crab dish for the evening. Here\'s Chef Jackson, the man behind all these new wonderful creations with his last Mud Crab recipe for the evening - Butter Crab. To be honest, it was really tough trying to identify Butter Crab & Stirred Fried Crab with Egg Yolk by taste. How can I not take a photo together with our talented Chef Jackson. Besides the Mud Crab, the co-star of the evening was the pretty flower crab. Nyonya Curry Flower Crab was indisputably my overall favourite crab dish for the evening. The spicy Nyonya Sambal was a perfect match for the sweet, tender flower crab meat. One is never enough. This is a die die must try! If the crabs were not enough to fill you up completely, you can always pop by the Noodles Section for Crab Meat Le Mein with Miso Paste and Condiments or Braised Tang Hoon with Live Crabs. There\'s also the hot variety section for Braised Pork Ball with Preserved Vegetable and Taro, Oatmeal Prawns, Stir-fried Chicken in Honey and Sesame, Fried Baby Kai Lan and Crabmeat Fried Rice, Crispy Soft Shell Crabs and Braised Sea Cucumber with Roast Pork and Mushrooms. Also remember to check out their Drunken Prawns. You can definitely taste the alcohol here! Their assorted Roti Pratas are worth a visit. I particularly loved the Durian Prata. Just imagine yummy durian pengat spread generously within a nice crispy prata. Heavenly... The Indian Pastry Chef was friendly and approachable. You can drop by his station any time for special requests like this really colourful paper thin prata! Last but not least, do not leave the place without trying their famous Carrot Cake. Best part of the cake? The cream cheese icing. If you love crabs, this is one hell of a buffet that\'s not to be missed. You may also like to check out my posts on other delicious food places here
Happen to get a complimentary voucher from my cousin for their daily buffet breakfast buffet and decided to give it a try.The choices on their spread are quite a lot but there are not any dishes that delight my taste bud.Was quite disappointed with their egg omelette which the chef has cooked on the spot upon my request. It was served to me less than five minutes but the presentation was not really that impressive. The omelette was a bit too wet and the cubes of ham, diced tomatoes are not really generous in portion and does not blend in well with the omelette.
I went to plaza brasserie with my family. The spread for the buffet is good. the seafood at the seafood section is really fresh. They even had abalone. The abalone was thinly slice, it was very chewy. they had the cooked food section where they will change the trays of food from time to time so if you missed some dish, you may not see it again like for me, I wanted to leave their bamboo clam dish to the last few to eat but they changed the tray to some spicy la la and I never saw the bamboo clam again. I like their fried oyster, it was served pretty hot and the oysters were generous. I ended my meal with their hot tea, they have a wide selection of tea.
i brought my parents and sister to plaza brasserie for a nice dinner. The spread for this buffet was pretty good, they had a seafood spread, where there are fresh prawns, mussels and all sorts of shell fishes. The seafood is so fresh. They also have shark fin soup. their shark fin soup is very tasty, it is very thick. When you add vinegar, the soup really does taste a lot better. They also have a roast meat section, I was so glad to see that they actually have roast duck and roast pork. My sister and I really love roast duck, so this was our favourite station. The duck meat were sliced rather thinly. the skin was a little fatty in my sister’s opinion, but I found it ok. The meat was really tender. Then they buffet line, they had this prawn dish. the marinate they coat around the prawn was very tasty, it made the prawn taste really nice. The prawn itself was very fresh, the meat was very sweet and juicy. They actually had a prata counter. I specifically love their curry. Their curry was sourish and spicy at the same time. It was not very thick but the flavours were just right. It goes really wellwith all the prata. The desserts were pretty unique, you dun really see kueh at other buffet lines. But this buffet actually had those traditional kueh, the nine layers kueh was really good. each layer was very chewy and it was very fragrant. I like their pudding a lot, took quite a number of servings. The pudding is really light, it is not too sweet and it is very creamy. it melts in your mouth when you eat it. The cake was a little too sweet for me though. I almost forgot about the steamed seabass with cream sauce. The seabass was so fresh, the chef was very generous, he gave us a pretty large piece for the family to share. The meat was so sweet. We were all very satisfied with the buffet spread and the quality.
It was 1 lazy Sunday afternoon. I was in no mood to cook,so on the spur of the moment,we decided to go for a high tea buffet to Plaza Brasserie, so we made a reservation & hurried to The Park Royal Hotel on the beach road. We love the simple yet elegant ambience. It was quiet & peaceful. We were welcomed by the staff cheerfully and were seated at a cosy corner. There were not many people dining at around 3 PM, probably we were too late , but we enjoyed the quite & peaceful atmosphere.
Visited Plaza Brasserie at Park Royal for their buffet dinner for the first time with my boyfriend. We were quite pleasantly greeted with warm and friendly service when we arrived at the restaurant. We were seated down at a quiet corner before we proceeded to view the buffet spread. They had cold seafood (oyster, clams, mussels, shrimp), chilli crab, chicken rice, steamed chicken, sea cucumber, deep fried soft shell crab, durian prata, cheese prata, chocolate prata, egg prata, prata kosong, tempura, deep fried fish skin, baked salmon, kebabs, etc. I must say that this is considered one of the better buffets I\'ve been to. I love the variety and the quality and taste of the food is pretty good. My favourite of the night has got to be the soft shell crab. The prata tasted good but I figured it was the aircon that cooled it down too fast, making it rather tough. The local dishes such as the steamed chicken, chili crab, sea cucumber were good too. I loved the desserts as well. Wide variety and very yummy!Spending: Approximately SGD 60(Dinner)
I was extremely honored to be invited to ORTU (Openrice Tasty Union) #20 for Plaza Brasserie\'s High Tea buffet. This is actually the first ORTU after stopping for a short while.Upon setting foot into the restaurant, we were greeted by Karen Chang (Marcoms Manager) who also toured us around the restaurant introducing the food and pointing out specialties to us. Leading the kitchen was none other than Singaporean Executive Chef Jackson Goh.Although Chef Jackson joined ParkRoyal only in 2007, he brought with him years of experience.Chef Jackson came a long way having started cooking at the young age of 13 while still in school. His passion, creativity and excellent skills has been widely recognized by the Singapore International Halal Showcase in 2008 as well as Singapore Gourmet Hunt in 2003.He is extremely well versed in French and Asia fusion cuisine. This photo didn\'t do justice to the awesome spread of goodies at the restaurant. But it\'s a good sneak preview to what you would be expecting.Had a simple start of spreads and biscuit.Nothing too fanciful as I prefer to start my meal really light.Created my own cold platter with prawns, mussels, tomato salad and very fresh lettuce. The prawns are very fresh and succulent. The sweetness that comes from the meat of the prawn engulf my entire tastebud so much so that I keep going for the prawns.Took a little bit of sushi just to try the taste.Realized that they don\'t make a whole lot of sushi and leave them in open air.Rather, they make enough and constantly top them up.Good move coz that way, the sushi remains fresh. It was totally taken aback when I ordered salmon sashimi and this was served. At most buffet restaurants that I went to, I would get a plate with at most 4 pieces of sashimi and that\'s about it.But this one, they are really generous. And not forgetting how fresh the sashimi is!!!The prawn noodles tasted really authentic. The soup was so tasty that I wasted no time in gulping down the entire bowl of soup.As we were told that their signature dish was sea cucumber and soft shell crab, I took some to try.The sea cucumber cooked well.Didn\'t have the soft mushy feel.Instead, the meat was springy and the entire taste of the sauce had sipped into the sea cucumber making it extremely yummy. The soft shell crab was a little disappointment.I reckon the crispiness was not there because it was left in the open for too long.So the crispiness turned soggy. The drunken prawns is a must have.I finished mine and helped my friend finish hers as well. You can actually taste the strong rice wine in the soup.Best to drink while hot.Ended my high tea with my favorite tau suan and English breakfast tea.The tau suan wasn\'t exactly the best.Something is missing and I can\'t quite pick out with is missing. The restaurant served a whole range of Twinnings and we were really spoilt for choice. Before we left the place, we were served carrot cake.It was sweet and I like it that they put walnuts on the top of the cake.Didn\'t manage to finish because well, I ate too much. This is definitely a place I would go back again.
I was amazed to see the spread offered. There is a Sushi & sashimi counter, Noodle counter, Indian counter (Pratas, tandoori chicken, tandoori fish), Salad bar, Dim sum counter, Shawarma counter, chinese chicken rice and veggies, sandwich mix and match, cakes & chocolate fondue, ice shaved section, ice creams and beverages (coffee, milk tea, Twinings tea bags, milo). Looking at so much of food, definitely got me confused as to what to try and what not to try :-). Although those food are not very tasty, and it looks normal..but I really happy see so any food in front of me..
I\'m really lucky to be one of the ten OpenRicer who got the invitation for the first OpenRice Tasty Untion (ORTU) of 2012. The best part is we got to feast all we can for free and the fact that Plaza Brasserie is an award-winning buffet restaurant makes me look forward to this event even more. This is my first time eating here and when I got there, I was amazed by the posh ambiance and set up of the restaurant. We were brought into a more private dinning area, away from the hustle and bustle of the main buffet area and with soft music playing in the background. With such a wide spread of dishes, I really don\'t know where to start from. Luckily, beforehand, we have followed Karen the MarCom Manager for a short tour. So I started withher favourite and recommended dishes. As they are currently having this Heritage Buffet Feast till 30 April, some of the dishes really are those traditional favourites. Dishes like Braised Sea Cucumber with Roast Pork & Mushroom, Braised Pork Balls with Mui Chye, Soft Shell Crab with Tobiko Mayo. These three dishes are the main highlights! The taste brings back memories of my grandpa\'s home-cooked meal in the past. Another not to be missed dish is their Chicken Shawarma. The smile of this lady chef makes her counter very approachable. This dish is rather a great combinations of the crunchy, fresh veggie and soft, tender meat wrapped up together. Tasty indeed. The salad corner is not to be missed too. With so many different kind of bread and dressings to choose from. My favourite here is the potato salad but be cautious to try small bites only as just the salad can make one quite full too.Hainanese Chicken Rice is our local delights. The fragrance of the rice with the chicken rice chili, ginger and black sauce is so familiar and so nice.Don\'t forget to try their drunken prawn, Japanese Sushi, and the spread of sweet treats available too. The drunken prawn soup is not too overwhelmed with the herbal taste and the Japanese sushi and sashimi are all very fresh. As for the desserts, I guess I needn\'t elaborate more. Look at the photos, tempting enough? To end the events, each of us got a slice of their new addition of the dessert lists which is the carrot cake. This carrot cake is extremely moist and full or texture and the cream cheese frosting is yummy. I will definitely plan some of the celebrations at Plaza Brasserie in the near future. Once again, thank you OpenRice and Thank you Plaza Brasserie for this wonderful afternoon of High Tea Buffet!
I was invited to be part of the ORTU event held by Openrice.com, which was held over the weekend at Plaza Brasserie- Park Royal, Beach road. I must admit, I was impressed,as the saw the restaurant. Its a simple but elegant place. I saw lots of people dining there. We were directed to our table, where we were introduced to other Openricers, then the Restaurant Manager Karen, guided us around the buffet and showed us the food offered at the buffet, the Signature dishes of Plaza Brasserie, her personal favourites etc. I was amazed to see the spread offered. There is a Sushi & sashimi counter, Noodle counter,Indian counter (Pratas, tandoori chicken, tandoori fish), Salad bar, Dim sum counter, Shawarma counter, chinese chicken rice and veggies, sandwich mix and match, cakes & chocolate fondue, ice shaved section, ice creams and beverages (coffee, milk tea, Twinings tea bags, milo).Looking at so much of food, definitely got me confused as to what to try and what not to try :-). I tried the Tandoori fish & chicken, prata, Shawarma, Sashimi, Sushi, Crispy soft shell crab, satong, pork meat balls, dimsums, salads, tea & the desserts. My personal favourites were the crispy soft shell crab, the fish tandoori, Shawarma, Pork dimsums, drunken prawns & the cakes (chocolate, blueberry cheese & carrot) We ate till we got stuffed. After that, we were interviewed for our feedback about Openrice & the Buffet at Plaza Brasserie. Finally, when we thought its over, we were served with a yummy carrot cake & iced Mocha which has recently been added to the Plaza Brasserie Menu. The staff who served us were very polite & friendly too. My wife was invited for the ORTU event held by Openrice.com, which was held over the weekend at Plaza Brasserie- Park Royal, Beach road and she could bring a friend along, so I got lucky. I have to say, I was impressed, with the ambience & set up of the restaurant. Once we settled into our chairs, the restaurant Manager took us around to show us the buffet set up & the food they have to offer. I was shocked to see such a wide spread. There is aIndian counter, Sushi & sashimi counter,Salad bar, Dim sum counter, Shawarma counter, chinese chicken rice and veggies, cakes & chocolate fondue, ice shaved section, ice creams and beverages (coffee, milk tea, Twinings tea bags, milo). It seemed like the buffet layout was unending. The staff served us with a smile and kept clearing our dishes as soon as we were done,so that we could go and help ourselves to more food. Water too was replenished often. I tried thePrawn curry, Tandoori fish & chicken, Shawarma, Laksa, Sushi, Crispy soft shell crab, satong, Hainanese chicken, dimsums, salads, & the desserts. My personal favourites were the crispy soft shell crab, the fish tandoori, carrot cake, drunken prawns, chocolate fondue with marshmellows/waffles & Iced Mocha. We ate till we were over full. Finally, we were served with a tasty carrot cake & iced Mocha which has recently been added to the Plaza Brasserie Menu.We enjoyed meeting other foodies who writes reviews on Openrice.com and came back home with Plaza Brasserie\'s dining vouchers. It was a perfect Saturday afternoonSpending: Approximately SGD 45
I am grateful that I am cordially invited by Open Rice to attend their ORTU at the plaza brasserie on last Saturday. As interviewed, I specially recommend their salmon, it is because I think that freshness is the essentially requirement for any foods. Their salmon indeed qualified to be my best dished in plaza brasserie. I like the soft crab and aglio olio too. Aglio olio has only garlic and olive oil as the main n essential ingredient, therefore this proven the chef’s abilities. I love aglio olio, the one is plaza brasserie is nice, but maybe abit oily. The spread is sumptuous. Thanks to Open rice and Plaza Brasseries .Spending: Approximately SGD 50
Title Buffet Comment The service is good and prompt as the waiters always keep our dish when we leave the table for more food and also refill for our sky juice without our request. As for dessert, my favourite would have to be the chocolate cake. When I arrived at the buffet table, there was a short queue for this popular dessert. It had three layers of chocolate, and all were oh-so-delicious! Grade /5
The food for the buffet isn\'t have a very wide range of variety. There are Sushi & sashimi stall, Noodle stall (laksa), Porridge stall (century egg porridge), Indian stall (Pratas, tandoori chicken), Salad bar, Dim sum bar, chinese chicken rice and veggies, sandwich mix and match, cakes & chocolate fondue, ice shaved section, ice creams and beverages (coffee, milk tea, Twinings tea bags, milo). The food standard is just above average, not very impressive. If it\'s not a free voucher, I will not go for the buffet.
To celebrate a friend’s birthday, we went to Plaza Brasserie located at Park Royal Hotel for buffet. It was a 1 for 1 special which costs $48 for both. The buffet was a wide spread of international cuisine. I enjoyed the fresh seafood most which consists of scallops, oysters, prawns and sashimi. Other lines consist of Chinese, Western and Italian food. The meal was value for money and we were very full. Spending: Approximately SGD 48(Dinner)

Wanted to eat something nice, so I decided to have lunch at Plaza Brasserie. When I got there, I ended up queueing for the sushis and sashimis. Yum. It was so fresh and tasted really good. I also tried their signature soft shell crab. Upon first bite, I instantly understood why this dish is available every day. It was very soft and crispy and was soo yummy, I kept on coming back for more. As for dessert, my favourite would have to be the chocolate cake. Redeemed the buffet voucher in Plaza Brasserie Park Royal Beach Road. So I shared with my friends and we went to have the free buffet in one sunday. The hotel and restaurant is nicely decorated with Christmas trees and accessories. Nice! The food for the buffet isn\'t have a very wide range of variety.
