The first generation founder of "Poh Cheu" was Lim Kim Noi, Neo Poh Cheu couple. 30 years ago, Lim Kim Noi started off selling homemade kuehs in Boon Lay as a mobile hawker. Due to my fine culinary skill in making delicious kuehs, customers love it very much. In between, "Poh Cheu" has been shifted from Boon Lay to Jalan Kayu, followed by Bedok, and finally settled in Bukit Merah.
Until today, "Poh Cheu" second generation descendant, Ng Kim Sing, Ang Eng Wah couple still insist in hand making instead of machine because this is the only way to maintain the highest quality of the kuehs. In 2012 October 3, "Poh Cheu" opened a new store, in the vicinity of existing store, unit number #01-222... pushing the family business to the next level. Third generation descendant Joe Lim, Jared Ng cousins plan to open up "Poh Cheu" franchise business in future.
"Poh Cheu" handmade Soon Kueh and Ang Ku Kueh are very popular. All kueh lovers will not miss! The handmade soon kueh in terms of quality and taste are far more better than those produced by the machine. The soon kueh skin is thin and transparent, filling is full and fresh with fragrant smell, it was so tasty and yummy that all must try! Other well-loved kuehs are ku cai kueh, bamboo shoot, yam kueh and rice cake.
