The appeal of a good nasi lemak has always been the sambal and the sweetly, spicy chili paste is what I need on a Sunday morning.
I headed for nasi lemak with some of colleagues for an early lunch and where else but if not the famed nasi lemak place at Adam Rd Food Cenre. Even though we reached ere around 11am, there already was a Q of about 6 people in front of me. As i stood in the Q, the moving slides of their award winning nasi lemak kept me occupied, wow i thought to myself, this certainly has to be gooood, they have won so many nasi lemak over the past 14 yrs. Well sadly, i was rather disappointed first with the service and second with the food. I guess all that awards and certification left me wanting for more. The uncle assumed I was asking for a take away and gave me my order in a box, next after waiting for the packed food to be unpacked and served onto my tray he forgot my otah as I had ordered a royal flush...oh well, he looked pretty flustered trying to get everyone\'s order asap,I did not even bother to ask for my otah. The rice was good, but there was nothing too great about the chicken, just fried chicken and there was too little chill jus flattened onto the plate at one corner. Don\'t think Il be trying that stall anytime soon again...
This is one of the best nasi lemak in Singapore seriously! Their rice is of basmati rice which i know is a better grade of rice as compared to other rice you can find because it doesn\'t sticks together and it is fine! When i scoop the rice up, and i could actually smell the fragance of the rice and abit of coconut milk smell, pandan leaves! Ordered a set which contains the otak, chicken wing and egg. They gave ikan bilis and cucumber as side order! Their chilli together with all of the food is "Thumbs Up" and worth the queue too! (:
best in adam road. This must be one of the best nasi lemak in Singapore. Even when its side dishes eg otak otak (grilled fish paste) and begedil (potato patties) are sold out, the queue is still so long. Even though the nasi lemak is slightly overpriced, its customers are not deterred at all. What distinguishes Selera Rasa from the other nasi lemak is the use of basmati rice, a superior grade rice which has a significantly finer consistency and whose grains do not stick together. In addition, the special rice has the distinctive fragrance and irresistable flavour of coconut milk and pandan leaves and is well complemented by the savory sambal tumis. The fried chicken wing is tasty and crispy. This is indeed one impressive nasi lemak that I will not hesitate coming back for more. Spending: Approximately SGD 3
I decided to queue for the famous Nasi lemak at Adam Road Food Centre. Apparently a royalty from Brunei patronises this store and the queue was really long! Most people ordered the Royal Flush (they have really cool names for their various set meals) but I decided there were too much ingredients in that set so I settled for the second largest set. There was a chicken wing, egg, otah, ikan bilis and rice. And, not forgetting the sambal chili! I felt that the nasi lemak tasted normal, not really that different from other places. But their otah was gooood. the rice was not too mushy and the chicken had a good seasoning and not too much batter. A satisfying lunch!
Long queues at this stall means their nasi lemak is a must try. The whiff from the rice is so fragrant.
The S$5 “Royal Flush” set includes an otah (spicy fish meat wrapped in banana leaf), a begedil (potato patty), a deep-fried chicken wing and a fried egg. All sets come with the obligatory ikan bilis (dried anchovies), cucumber slices and a large serving of coconut-flavoured rice teamed with a spicy sambal sauce. The rice is very fragrant with some pandan smell. The chicken is nicely smashed and covered with crispy batter. The chilly is very nice too. My classmate always bring us there during our long break.. And that nasi lemak is awesome!!! Especially the chicken wing and the chilli.... YUM YUM!!! Spending: Approximately SGD 5(Lunch)
I love the Nasi Lemak here, I always do. The people who come here will make a beeline for this Nasi Lemak store, the moment they stepped into Adam Food Centre. This is because they sell out very fast, usually by afternoon, no more. So I was there this afternoon, and I wanted to order the combo D, but no more fish, so I settle for combo B. Chicken Wing, Ikan Bilis, Cucumber and the chilli is so shiok. I especially like the rice, it\'s basmati rice. Nice and flagrant, do give it a try when you are here. Oh yah, they do deliveries too, and they now have branches in Singapore Flyer too! Spending: Approximately SGD 5(Lunch)
