Suki-ya is a Japanese shabu shabu place and I absolutely like the jap styled steamboat. It can be seen as a healthier version of the traditional steamboat with non-marinated meat that equates to lesser calories. If you are a meat lover and you love the thin slices of meat rather than meat chunks, perhaps you can try go jap instead.
Eat all you can sukiyaki & Shabu Shabu, lunch at $16.90++
they have an outlet at bugis+! had an enjoyable dinner there. the food was reasonably priced and the ambience was really lively
Today, we go to the restaurant outlet located in Tampines Mall basement 1.This is our repeat visit within a couple of month.Children insist of eating lunch there. We request the shabu shabu & sukiyaki soup with meat of beef, chicken and pork and a variety of fish balls, vegetable, beancurd, noodles etc.The children love the Udon & cellophane noodles very much. The thin slice of beef is extremely tender, eat in the way that slight cook and tip with raw beaten egg is very good taste.Spending: Approximately SGD 19
Suki-ya buffet really have very fresh thinly sliced beef, pork and chicken that will impressed the meat lovers. All foods are served to you upon order and the soup base used in their steamboat is light in taste and not too oily. There is also a free flow bar for your to pick up your healthy range of vegetables, pickles, toufu and different types of sauces.Overall the experience was quite enjoyable and the environment is pretty cosy here too.Great place to have a quiet lunch with your loves one.
A dinner with my mummy and turn out dissapointing... It looks good on the outside and do have nice smell! hahaha that i can\'t wait to go in and eat. by the way i queue for 15 minutes before we can enter inside. This is how it looks out on the exterior..And the food that is available, which i think is super little and makes no difference with those $10+ Steamboat outside. They provide nothing special, no shells, no seafood, but only those veggies, sausage, meatball..... Which is common found. And they says they close at 11pm, but at around 10pm they start billing everyone already, as though they are chasing us off. And at 9:30pm they going take all away those food ):I expected it to be better.... 2 person bill is $52! Would not go there anymore...
Heard alot of good reviews of the restuarant and hence, decided to give it a try. Basically, it is a 100 min steamboat buffet in which one can order 3 types of meat (pork, chicken and beef). There is no seafood. Though I agree that the food is quite nice (mainly because of soup and sauce), I think soup consists of lots of msg. I was super thirsty after having the steamboat buffet. Personally, I would not recommend this restaurant for huge group coz the early ones will not be able to go into the restaurant to wait for the rest as the time started from the point in which someone from the group enters the restaurant. Spending: Approximately SGD 25(Dinner)
2 soup base to choose from out of the 3. We had one non-spicy ones and one spicy one. Beef , chicken and pork have to be ordered via the waitress. I didn\'t really like the beef and chicken. Beef was a little hard. Chicken wasn\'t really fresh. Only pork was tender and nice.
The waitress state that we are only allow to spent 1hr 40min in the restaurant. Wow ~~This shows that they must be expecting long queue ~~ There is a few soup base that you could choose from and we order the sukiyaki and the shabu shabu soup base (Max 2 soup base). There is a free flow of beef, pork and chicken shabu shabu slice and vegetables ~. However, the drinks and the cooked food were not included in the buffet price.
First time in 112 Katong mall and first time having suki-ya. Highly raved by my boy thus we went there for dinner. It was a little disappointing as the ice cream machine wasn\'t working on that day. Not only that, most of the food were fried. Didn\'t really like it in my opinion. 2 soup base to choose from out of the 3. We had 2 non-spicy ones. Don\'t think i\'ll patronize here again.

Went to Suki-Ya and have steamboat ! Yummy ! : We can choose 2 different types of soup-base in one steamboat and there were different sauces for us to mix around. Suggests to add-on the free-flow salmon at around $6. Is really fresh ! will go back and eat again

Suki-Ya for dinner with friends! The food here is really good. We ordered the sukiyaki based soup and the kimchi based soup. Both were very tasty, not too salty! There is also afree flow of meat which includes chicken, pork and beef and they were all very tender. Their porkball with cheese filling is gooood too! Not too cheesy, totally love it!Spending: Approximately SGD 28
Decided to try the shabu shabu as we passed by Marina Sq ~ The waitress state that we are not allow to wait in the restaurant for friends to come and that we are only allow to spent 1hr 40min in the restaurant. However, the drinks and the cooked food were not included in the buffet price. The beef were not cut thinly every plate, i guess it depends on the person who cut. The chicken was scattered the moment it touched the boiling soup. Nevertheless, pork was nice cut ~ The dessert (Ice cream) was only given a serving per person. Well, overall was a great place for friends gathering.Spending: Approximately SGD 28
Here at SU-KI Ya, you will be abled to enjoy very fresh sliced beef and pork .Their yuan yang steamboat base is very nice and tasty. They also have a buffet spread of fresh vegetables, noodles and variety sauces for you to self service.Service staffs are friendly and helpful.A great place for steamboat! My verdict: 7.5/10Spending: Approximately SGD 20(Lunch)
\'FRESHNESS\' is definitely the key points when having steamboats! You be able to obtain this at Suki-Ya!Yummy! My verdict: 8/10Spending: Approximately SGD 28(Lunch)
Decided to try Suki-ya after friend\'s recommendation! Had the dinner buffet( Around $27) We get to choose two soup base, and we took kimchi and suki-ya. Both soup base are nice!!! The kimchi soup gets richer and nicer, the longer you boil it. Not much variety to choose from for the buffet, meat: Pork, chicken and beef slices the rest are all vegetables, mushrooms, tofu, fishballs, meatballs etc. I think it was quite a healthy type of steamboat buffet! The quality of the beef slices is good! I finished two trays of beef slices, one tray of pork slices and one tray of chicken all by myself, i also spammed a lot of shitake mushrooms! The buffet comes with ice cream too. I had a few spoon of ice cream, because i was damn full from the steamboat already!!! I like the interior design of the restaurant, and overall service was fine. Visit this place if you want to have a healthier steamboat buffet(:Spending: Approximately SGD 27(Dinner)
