The Icing Room, a dessert concept by Bread talk made its name famous with its own DIY cakes. Recently, they launch several new items and I trotted down to try some of them. With desserts, one should have some tea to wash it down; and the Icing Room offers a large variety such as the English breakfast, Chamomile and Darjeeling. So there you have it, lots of sweets and tea - ideal for the young tai tais in the making.
Chocolate lovers will definitely be in love with these brownies from Icing Room.Infact you may like it really alot as the dark chocolate used in it is quite generous and the texture in really compact. The dark chocolate is not too sweet and a bit of bitterness in it.The portion is more towards the finger food size so you can eat it irregular you are really full or when you just want to munch abit for your teabreak.
As i work around here so usually when i wanna order cake for friends,i will come to this outlet
After having few times of their cake,i find that their cake was just so so
It was not veri moist, abit dry instead

Overall i rate 6/10
Few days before my birthday, May Bank sent me a letter telling me that i and entitled to receive few birthday treats at the following places. One of it was a free birthday cake from icing room in Junction 8! and i could get that cake anytime within my birthday month! As i was busy celebrating my birthday with my friends, I could not go there and get my cake):But the next day, my brother went to Junction 8 to get the cake for me! <3 It was black forest cake! With a lot of strawberry on it! I love strawberry! <3 The chocolates flakes on the cake was just right and the cake is soft and spongy. Who says icing room\'s cake wasn\'t nice?? Well~ this one was!
As it was my friend\'s birthday, my friend and i decided to make a DIY cake here at the Icing Room! When you buy the cake, they will give you a freshly creamed plain cake and what you are supposed to do is to decorate the cake by yourself! Really love the flexibility of self customising a cake and just letting your creativity flow! though the cake was a little disfigured by the time we presented it to my friend, I guess it is the thought that counts right! And the cake was pretty good as well!
THE ICING ROOM LOCATED AT 313 SOMERSET IS THE FIRST CAKE STORE THAT CAN LET US DIY YOUR OWN CAKE DESIGN
WHERE YOU CAN HAVE PARENT BONDING SESSION , WORKSHOP FOR KIDS ETC
THE STORE SELL WIDE VARIETY OF CAKES , WHICH ARE TEMPTATION TO EAT IT AT ONCE .
I ORDER A TARO MIST FROM THE STORE , THE CAKE IS CREAMY , TOPPLED WITH FRESH FRUITS , THE CAKE IS NOT TOO SWEET . THE YAM IS NICE . INSIDE THE CAKE WAS LAYER WITH YAM .
Discovered this cream puff while getting a last minute cake from the icing room. They were having an offer for ntuc link card members so i got it for a dollar, which is really worth it! The puff is quite huge and the cream is overflowing. It is made of cookie crumbs at the top. I prefer the chocolate cream one because there is more flavour. A light enjoyable snack! (:
Went to Woodlands after school. Passed by the icing room and saw this cake.
Well, it doesn\'t taste like cake at all. It consists layers of pudding like mango cream and chocolate cake. On top are mangoes, which I think the mango is a bit sour. The Icing Room cake had never failed me, you wont feel sick after eating too much, instead it is very refreshing. Definitely worth the price.Spending: Approximately SGD 4.20
Bought this to celebrate my friend\'s birthday. To all chocolate lover, this is definitely a must try cake. Chocolate chiffon cake coated with layers of chocolate mousse, with a few chocolate macaroons beside it and topped with strawberries and chocolates, DELICIOUS and awesome feeling. Only thing is that the macaroons are too sweet ( macaroons are always that sweet though), we act left it aside after having 1 or 2 of it. But we did finish the cake in seconds, because it is just that yummy. The strawberries can be a little bit sour too, but this cake is definitely worth the price.
Bought this cake for my friend\'s 20th birthday. It is called "Fruity Paradise".As you can see from the name of the cake, the cake was really full of fruits like stawberries, mangoes, kiwis on topof the cake.Besides that, the cake was surrounded by pieces of white chocolate and they actually tied a small little ribbon on the chocolate which made the cake looked really thoughtful and pretty. This pretty-looking cake taste relatively sweet to me but overall it is still okay because you will get to eat different fruits with the cake. Those cake at there were all very dreamy and princess which are very suitable for girls.Besides that, they sell the cake at reasonable price.
The Icing Room, a dessert concept by Breadtalk made its name famous with its own DIY cakes. Recently, they launch several new items and I trotted down to try some of them. I think the cake is too creamy
Speaking of macarons, The Icing Room serves a large variety of flavours, and when compared with the traditional French macaron, the version served here is not as sweet.
If sweetness is your thing and you need something stronger, go for the Double Chocolate Cake with
With desserts, one should have some tea to wash it down; and the Icing Room offers a large variety such as the English Breakfast, Chamomile and Darjeeling. However, I don’t allow see them with crowds.
NIce and quite affordable cup cakes can be found at The Icing Room. These strawberry cup cakes are quite soft in texture and really like the rich flavour of the butter used in making these lovely cup cakes. The rich strawberry fresh cream topped on it is also not too sweet and just with the right fragrant. The portion is just alright and by having a piece of their cup cakes with a cup of hot beverages to go alone with it will surely satisfy your taste bud.Spending: Approximately SGD 2.20(Other)
It was a good friend’s birthday so a couple of us headed to icing room to diy a cake for her. We bought the 6 inch medium sized cake in vanilla fruit cake flavour for her. We all did not prepare what to draw on the cake so when they served us the blank white cake, all we did was to stare at it for a while. We were given some icing sugar and icing liquid to choose from. And some harden sugar stars. After some diy-ing we were done, the cake was uniquely ours. I like the idea of diy-ing something. It made the cake so special that there is only one in this world and the person receiving it would feel special too.
The cake was really delicious. our vanilla cake had layers of cream, cake and fruits. They were really generous with the fruit, for the layer that had fruits, the fruits were packed really closely together. Their cream was not too heavy as well, it was whipped till very light. What I like most is the cake, it was so moist and fluffy, it was not too sweet as well.
Icing room made make many beautiful cakes that are very attractive. I love doing DIY cake there, I found it\'s so fun doing it, I get to design my very own cake. The cake there are very pretty too, If probably i would like to try all the cake someday, i brought a few of the muffins back, the muffin was so yummy and good texture! Icing room is really a nice bakery shop that sell delicious pastries!
The Icing Room is probably the first concert cake shop that gives people a chance to DIY cakes for any occasions. Now everyone be their own cake designer and decorate their own cakes with the different decorations and wordings. As the whole family is waiting for me to get a cake for my mum\'s birthday, I do not have the luxury time to sit there and slowly DIY my own cake. Luckily, they do have ready-decorated cakes for sale. I wanted to get the Choco Castle which has a mini layer on top but upon request the sales lady told me it\'s only for display and not for sale. Was rather disappointed. Ended up I got the similar one which is called Choco Magic. The only difference is that the Choco Magic has only one layer.I love all the colourful icing decorative items that they have. Bought the last piece of the icing monkey at $2 each. It\'s rather expansive as it\'s just a piece of sugar made into different animals. This Choco magic is the right choice for any chocolate lovers. Soft and fluffy chocolate chiffon cake filled with chocolate mousse and covered with a thick layer of chocolate ganache with the chocolate macaroons at the side. It makes one feel happy with every mouthful. Sink your teeth inside and be surprise with bite full of chocolate and berries. Heavenly!
The Icing Room, a dessert concept by Bread talk made its name famous with its own DIY cakes. Recently, they launch several new items and I trotted down to try some of them.
From the Dessert Shooters, go for the orange lemon if you like something sweet.
Speaking of macaroons, The Icing Room serves a large variety of flavors, and when compared with the traditional French macaroon, the version served here is not as sweet. But we didn’t order them this time round.
With desserts, one should have some tea to wash it down; and the Icing Room offers a large variety such as the English breakfast, Chamomile and Darjeeling. So there you have it, lots of sweets and tea - ideal for the young tai tais in the making.
Happy Birthday Daddy. After dinner, my brother and I decided to decorate a special cake to our father. With the permission from our mother, we went into the Icing Room and chose the 6 inch vanilla cake to decorate. We are allowed to choose between Vanilla or Blackforest cake. Other than that, we were given 3 piping bags with coloured cream (pink, yellow and green) and are allowed to choose between brown or red colour as well. Therefore total there were 4 piping coloured bags provided together with one packet of star icing deco.
There were plently of icing decorations to choose from which costs for about 3 for $10. We decorated for about 15 minutes and brought our deco cakes to the friendly staff. She was nice and asked whether we wants any candles. It was packed nicely on a pink paper box with a plastic. We got home and put it in the fridge before cutting it After cutting it, we realised that the vanilla cake consists of fruits in it as well The cake was soft and fluffy Overall, I loved the concept of decorating the cake plus it was also affordable
The cake at icing room is really beautiful that attracted my attention. I can\'t stop myself for buying one of the cake. I brought a slice cake, i cant remember the name but the top layer is matcha mousse and with sponge cake. The sponge cake is coarse in texture and I don\'t really like the taste. Overall the cake is just average, I don\'t think I would like to buy cake from icing room.
It was my sister birthday and therefore i decided to give icing room\'s cake a try! i bought the choco magic cake andit is really filled with lots of chocolate! Looks beautiful and tasted great! Glad i made a correct decision. The price was slightly more than the cake you can get from your neighbourhood bakery shop, but it was definitely worth a try!
So for a friend’s birthday, I went down to Icing Room to design a cake for her. The place was lovely, however their service is totally the opposite. I wasn’t greeted with a “hello” or even a smile. Moving on, when we had the cake, it didn’t taste very good. the fruits in it were not fresh and it was quite sticky. It did not smell good either. In conclusion, I wouldn’t go there for my next birthday gift.
Icing room – I have decided to do something special for a friend of mine. Went to icing room and decided to make a cake myself, selected a medium size cake with chocolate fillings that costs $20.80. the cake is quite average, however, due to the idea of DIY it has managed to attract many customers and I am one of them.
It was my girlfriend’s and my anniversary so we decided to go to icing room to design a nice cake together. We ordered the black forest cake, we bought their fresh fruits and icing toppings. It was really fun designing it. the process was kind of exciting. The cake turned out really delicious. the icing sugar they provided us was kind of sweet but when with the cake it was ok. The cake was not too sweet just nice. however the price is kind of expensive but for such experience I think it is worth it!
Got this cake for a friend. I was actually attracted to the packaging and also thought the cake would be light and easy to carry around. It cost $8.80 and the size was around 6" and I was told that it could be kept up to 3 days. I tried it and indeed it was light and soft and not cheesy at all. I quite like it and certainly it went well with a cup of good hot beverages. Icing Room indeed make good and nice cakes.Spending: Approximately SGD 8.8
Bought a voucher from Groupon on Icing Room where customers get to decorate their own designs on the cake. I went on saturday with a friend and she did her own and I did mine. We were given a choice whether we want a vanilla fruit cream cake or a black forest and I settled for the latter. It was fun but just that the piping cream and jam provided were not really enough and have to pay if ask for extras. Anyway I felt uneasy at first due to my age and later I realizedit doesn\'t matter how old you are, when the things got started, it did bring out that child in me and I got excited and giggled at some point.
I brought the cake to a friend\'s house the next day and shared it and we all enjoyed it as the cake was soft and moist and not too sweet which we thought the fresh cream would. Really enjoyable.
it was my girlfriend\'s birthday and i decided to surprise her with a nice personalised cakes. normally for birthday cakes, we only get to write happy birthday on a tiny piece of chocolate placed on the centre of the cake. but for icing room, we got to decorate the cake. i am not an artistic person so i got my sister to help, this was what we came out with. it was quite a fun process decorating the cake. we ordered the chocolate flavour. it was really good. the cake was really moist and soft. not too sweet as well. my girlfriend absolutely love it.
I was planning to buy a cake to celebrate my mum’s birthday. I decided to get it from icing room as I always walk pass and see people designing and personalising their cake. I ordered their medium size one. It came in black forest (chocolate) or vanilla. I opted for the black forest one. They give me 3 icing frosting to decorate my cake. There was also some icing sugar too. It was quite exciting to design and personalise the cake for my mum’s birthday.
The Icing Room! Brought my little niece to this awesome place to express her creativity and imagination through decorating a delicious cake. The colouring icing and small icing flowers and patterns are provided. The cake taste delicious too! thick chocolate within with vanilla cream, taste very good considering the affordable price we have to pay to get the cake and also decorate. Awesomeness! I also like The Icing Room’s macarons! Especially their green tea flavoured ones. Very mildly flavoured with green tea but it is so soft you just cant resist it.
I like the concept of icing room be it their interior or their nature of work! it has been design as a princess-like interior with white and pink as their mean colour. The cakes can be DIY or pre-make. hence, you can DIY your own the design of the cake on your preference. for those who want unique cake and yet don\'t have the ability to bake one, just like me, are able to do it now.
It was my sis bdae the nxt day & since i was flying off to KL & couldnt celebrate with her, I decided to buy a cake to celebrate it for her the day before. My sis loves cute cakes & so i began my quest to find one really cute & nice one for her. I went to Causeway Point, which was abt to finish their renovations, & there were many new shops ard. The basement had many cake shops, & it was a really tough decision to decide where to get my cake frm. I remembered seeing a really cute dog cake frm The Icing Room, & since my sis love dogs, i decided to check it out.
When i reached, the place where i saw the cake was empty. Asked the staff & she said it was just sold to another customer. I was a tad too late. Luckily, i saw another cake, a cute piggy cake with a macaron shell nose. It was really cute too & i knw my sis would love it. Bought it & asked for a total of 6 candles from them.
When i reached home, i was really happy when i saw the grin on my sis face after she opened the cake box. The cake was abit tilted though, i guess i didnt carry it quite properly, hehe!
Will patronise The Icing Room agn as their cakes are really nice & cute! Moreover, we can also decorate our own cakes there! Will try my hands on one of those soon! ^^
Icing room.. i can say it\'s a wonderful place to get your friend/ family a present for any occasions. Be it Mother\'s day, father\'s day, birthdays, annivasary so on and so on. It\'s just the perfect gift because a sweet treat is never nasty.
On top of that, if you don\'t like to get the ready made cakes, you can choose to get the self-made fruity cakes. There\'re 3 sizes to choose from and prices are reasonable.
I got the medium sized one at around 20 like that. And you can decorate it yourself with the coloured creams and decorative candies. While having fun, you also get to make the present for your friends/ family.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY \'MUMMY\'. To celebrate her birthday, my cousin decided to decorate a birthday cake in The Icing Room. We had a great fun in decorating and my cousin even drew a mouse on the cake. The cake was decorated with different icing colours and it was presently colourfully. Although, overall presentation was not nice but I could see that my mother smile with a wide grin when she blew the candles. It was lovely!
There were total 3 type of sizes of cake to choose from and 2 flavours were available. We chose the smallest blackforest caketo decorate. There were alot lots of decoration for individual to mix and match and it cost about $2 (big one) or 3 for $2. Below are the cake we had decorated
Every time I passed by The Icing Room, I would stop by and take a look. There would always be people standing around decorating the cakes. I find that this is a very unique shop. Not only do they sell cakes, puffs, cookies etc., they also provide the facility for customers to decorate their own cake. I have always wanted to try the DIY.
Then came an opportunity when I bought these discount coupons from Groupon for a Jr. Chef Workshop for Kids at The Icing Room. I paid half the original price of $36 per workshop.
The workshop was in the morning, at Somerset 313 branch and there was only one other kid beside my two. I liked the set-up of this particular branch, so pink and sweet. There was a sitting area where you could sit and enjoy a dish or two from their menu.Today, they used this space for the workshop.
The theme for that day was to decorate the cake into a bumble bee with cream and chocolate. The instructor was very patient with the children. I\'m not trying to praise my own but from the final products I could say that my kids were very patient too. It really took a lot of time and patience to make the cream \'balls\' so small and closely packed together. They really enjoyed themselves. That very night, we \'sacrified\' one of the bees to our tummy. We cut one of the cakes and ate it. The taste of the sponge cake was not fantastic, but the fruit sandwiched between the layers of cake blended well with it and improved the overall taste.
My visit to icing room was quite fun
As i love to bake cake,DIY it myself but when i think of need to clear up the mess,is really abit troublesome,So i rather pay abit more to have fun DIY without worries about the mess
Their sponge cake quite soft but too creamy & sweet
i don\'t really like it
If for the fun experience of DIY cake,i would go back again
Went to The Icing Room to custom make a birthday cream cake for my friend.
Guess The Icing Room is the only shop that let customers to decorate cake themselves.
I was very excited when I get the chance to decorate a cake to my friend.
I squeezed the colourful icing to the cake and the macaron by the side.
The macaron by The Icing Room was quite famous so i\'m eager to try it.Tadaa~!! Tasted nice too Chocolaty taste
This mini banana cake from Icing Room is cute and the design is simple and unique. At only $1.30 each, one whole roll of mini banana cake will be delighted by all ages. The sponge is soft and moist and the banana flavour is quite fragrant.Best to eat with a cup of hot beverage. Two thumbs up!My verdict: 7/10
Spending: Approximately SGD 1.30(Other)
This cream puffs from icing room are really good in taste! The puff texture is soft and yummy and the fresh cream used taste great!Quite a big piece which can be quite satisfying for people who have smaller appetite.I normally would buy two for myself as is so delicious! You may also call to place order for bulk purchase too.Two Thumbs Up!My verdict: 7/10
I know the signature item of The Icing Room is definitely their DIY vanilla sponge cakes but that didn\'t stop me from getting their Japanese light cheese cake.
It\'s this round fluffy and fresh cheese cake that I don’t often see customers buying it. Every bite melts in your mouth. The box is pink in color, with an oriental female doll and the word \'Delicious\' spelled across.
It was so good, I think I actually finished 3/4 of the entire piece.
I always thought that icing room was a place for small kids to have some fun and design their own cakes, which may not be even nice. However, after a trip to the icing recently, my opinion changed. It\'s actually quite fun and is suitable for all ages to let their imagination and creativity flow! Designing your own cake is so fun! It\'s actually not easy to handle the icing and make your design nice and neat! My mum and I design this cake for my sister\'s 23rd birthday and she absolutely love it! Warms our hearts I\'ll definitely be back for another cake designing session! How about you?
I got a chocolate hazelnut/tiramisu heart-shaped cake from Icing Room for my mom for Mother\'s Day. I had initially wanted to do the DIY vanilla sponge cake with assorted icing and decorations but it was too crowded so I decided to skip it.
I like how most of the cakes on display had the little "Best Mom" tags attached on them, though a small gesture but they made the cakes looked really thoughtful overall.
So the pretty-looking cake I got was relatively sweet actually but still okay on the whole, if you eat a small piece by piece. I really liked the crunchy biscuit base, the berries garnish and the chocolate mousse.
Citibank also had 15% discount off.
Decorated a cake specially for mother\'s day. I DIY on the spot as i find it pretty troublesome bringing home to do it. Plus it\'s meant to be a surprise! I find that the standard of their cakes are deteriorating. Vanilla cake but the sponge cake was so little. When we bite into it, all we tasted were lots and lots of creams instead. A big turn off!
Icing room at 313 somerset! Staffs there are friendly and willing to help. Ingredients provided for us to decorate the cake was pretty limited. The cake, however, is too creamy for me. The cake is literally filled with cream! Overall, it is pretty to look at but not so much of tasty. It is the experience of decorating the cake that makes customers want to go back rather than the cake being good.
Recently, BreakTalk @ J8 undergone a renovation and now they have split the unit into 1/3 and 2/3. 1/3 of the space now goes to Icing Room, BreakTalk\'s new creation, the other 2/3 still remains as BreadTalk.
This Icing Room, just like the other outlets, also caters to the DIY birthday cakes service. They also sell colorful cakes, muffins and macaroons. I was craving for some cheese cake and thought that I should just get one regular sized one instead of the small slices, this way my family and I could have them together.
The Japanese cheese cake I bought ($8.80) was light, fluffy, not too sweet and not too buttery. It has a sponge-like feel and melts in your mouth (really). It\'s so light that I ate a quarter of it to myself just after dinner.Spending: Approximately SGD 8.80(Other)
DIY cakes at reasonable price that taste above average. Suitable when you have to crack your brain to think of a cake to buy. Come here and design your very own cake ! Let your imagination run wild! Service was good from the staff there in their cute uniform. Cake was fresh and tastes good! wonderful experience designing the cake.
This was my first time eating macarons. I bought a packet of 6s that costs $10. Each pc is $1.80. I ate the pink, brown and green color. Oh, just a tip. After i bought back home, i placed in the freezer for about 15mins before i eat it. The pink one tasted like plum (but actually its strawberry!), the brown one is chocolate while the green one is macha (green tea). They tasted great when chilled with a smooth texture on the outside and airy within. I believe a better quality of macarons will practically melt in your mouth when you bite it. I have no idea why macarons are quite expensive though. I'm always greedy for a bigger portion when it comes to dessert.
