A brief history behind the name

In general, The Ivy League refers to a selective group of institutions of higher education located in the northeastern United States. These schools are associated with high academic standards and selective admissions criteria.

The term "Ivy League" was coined in the early 1930s by Stanley Woodward, a sports writer for the New York Herald Tribune. In 1936, the undergraduate newspapers of each of the schools that would form the Ivy League simultaneously ran an editorial advocating the formation of an ``Ivy League.'' The formal institution of the intercollegiate Ivy League took place in 1953, when the schools agreed to schedule most of their football games against other schools in the league.

The eight schools included in The Ivy League include Harvard University, Yale University, Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania, Cornell University, Brown University, Dartmouth College, and Columbia University. The Ivy League has traditionally been associated with elitism, in addition to academic excellence.

This distinguished education system has inspired us to name our Premier English institute, The Ivy League. In The Ivy League, teachers and staff are striving to give the best education quality and academic excellence to our students.

The Ivy League was established in June 2006. At the beginning of its establishment, The Ivy League focused its programs on SAT and TOEFL iBT Preparation Courses.

Our excellent facilities, including state of the art broadband computer laboratory (one computer for each student), comfortable classrooms have set the standard for private learning centers in Indonesia.
