The front portion of the LG KG810 is a glossy black and contains a 1.3-megapixel camera, colour screen and touch and heat activated music buttons which glow red. A metallic silver border distinguishes the top section of the clamshell from the bottom.
The left side of the phone controls the volume during calls and also for the MP3 player and is the adjustment for the zoom on the camera. The right side of the phone contains the camera shutter button and the port which has a two way purpose--charging port and headset/USB port. The rear of the phone is free of anything which would detract from its sleek lines.
The interior of the LG KG810 contains an exceptional color screen measuring 32mm wide by 40mm tall above a flat easy-to-use keypad with a large round navigation button two soft keys.
The tri-band design is marketed as a good all-round phone with an MP3 players supporting MP3, AAC and AAC+ formats. You can listen to music via proprietary headphones, your own headphones with an adapter or the Bluetooth stereo headphones. The sound quality is excellent, both for the MP3 and for sending and receiving calls. No distortion on either end was reported and the volume good even for those who have some trouble hearing with other mobile phones. The MP3 player can be controlled with the clamshell shut or open.
The 1.3 megapixel camera provides acceptable pictures and video for small messages.
While there is no expandable memory slot, the phone will has 128 MB of on board memory. Other features include a calculator, a calendar, an alarm clock, a voice recorder, an FM radio, a unit converter, world time, a stop watch and Java games.
There is a web browser and email incorporated into the phone, so you can send and receive calls and text messages.
The standard Li-Ion mAh battery life is rated at 2-3 hours of talk time and 200 hours of standby time and two to three hours of talk time.
All in all, as a middle-of-the line phone for many purposes in one, the LG KG810 is a great choice.
