Tip #1 - Find the website guidelines. Most authority sites will have some guidelines in their testing, use it to tally with your own test. Tip #2 - Set your own testing guidelines. Do not let others drag you around, you must have your own guidelines. Tip #3 - Use Virtual PC for testing. Microsoft Virtual PC is the best testing environment for new software, you can save a backup of the Virtual PC file before testing, and replace them from the backup after testing, this will restore the test environment and provide a consistent testing result. Tip #4 - Always reset and use standard testing environment. Download all registry cleaners from the recommended websites, follow your own guidelines and perform the test yourself. Another "quick" way to avoid scam is simply going for suggestion from well trusted website, such as PC magazine, PC world or forums, but this does not guarantee you get the best result, it only works for getting a better review and finding a reasonable good product.
